 [A boy, thin and haggard, trembling. His face is drawn and pale and he's twitchy, glancing to the side every few seconds like he's waiting to be attacked. 

Considering he entered Siren's Port an hour or so after midnight, this isn't that much of a surprise.

He's still feeling a little sick, although it's as likely to be psychosomatic and aggravated by malnutrition as the actual lingering effects of the pull.]

The weather. [His illness, the things he's seen--creatures, humanoid, black holes of power. Other creatures, malformed and disgusting. He doesn't want to talk about it.] Is it always like this? 

[Cold. It's not that he's never been exposed to it, but it's a rarity. He's used to a perpetually warm climate, both from the areas he's been traveling in and his birthplace.]

Time doesn't mean much here. The relative of yours I mentioned was alive when Itachi was four-years-old, and it seems like he died, too. Shikamaru was gone for four years, and when Ino arrived here she'd seen him a few hours ago. The Core messes with memories sometimes too, but that's rare.

It also rained candy a few months ago.

[She wishes that part was a joke.]

Some of the people here were stupid enough to actually eat it.

And what were the effects?

The effects were relatively harmless. Mostly it seemed like it was designed to humiliate people.

That doesn't answer my question.

[Ugh. It takes her a few minutes to dig up this info again.]

Some people said it turned their hair green. Others were thirsty, a few people seemed to have... extreme static electricity. I don't know every single thing they did, and I wasn't willing to test them myself.

Does that sort of thing happen a lot?

[reassures]

Sometimes. It was the only time it ever rained candy, though.

If you use common sense, you'll be fine.

Common sense is a precious and rare commodity.

I'm sure Siren's Port isn't as bad as where I came from.

It's bad in different ways than Konoha is.

You'd be stupid to underestimate it.

What do you know about Konoha?

[reassures]

I know enough.

Gee. That really answered my question.

[reassures]

Because you've been so cooperative. Why do I owe you any answers? I know enough to know that I will never go to Konoha if I have a choice in the matter. Why do the specifics matter?

[bondsoflove]

I'm trying to crush it. Any intel is useful.

[Frowning.]

But you're right. It doesn't matter.

[reassures]

I don't have any intel. I just know what I've been told by friends-- I'm not from your world at all.

[She'd love to see him manage that, though. Like Naruto would ever let him.]

Keep in mind they're biased.

[Although she did say she wouldn't want to visit Konoha if she had the chance, so maybe the information she's gotten hasn't been so far removed from the truth to be unrecognizable.]

[reassures]

So?

[She doesn't understand why that matters. First he's looking for intel, and then he's talking about her friends being biased. She doesn't understand how that's even related.]

Why does it matter if they're biased if I don't intend to go there anyway?

[Sigh.]

It doesn't. I'm just sick of it being held up as the paragon of righteousness. Its citizens are drunk on peace and rarely look past their own noses.

I don't care if you have something against Konoha. I already dislike it.
