It's a nice thought. Who knows the reason why, though?

[To be honest, he's kind of making this up as he goes along. The Creators gave them an incomplete understanding of the human body, a small but hugely important hole in their knowledge. He clearly remembers Ergo Proxy's/Proxy One's despair at not being able to make humans complete, but he can't guess the reason why the Creators included sex in the blueprints despite not including procreation.]

Why people have sex to express their love?

Your body is yours; the only time to be selfish and rightfully so. You think you're the only one that can treat it with respect But sharing it with someone means that you trust them enough to let them in, to share your body with them, to take care of it and treat it with the same respect you do.

Because there are some people out there that don't acknowledge that respect and rape destroys that ability to trust anyone with your body.
