[integra_hellsing]

[ What appears over the network is a car. It is simple; black with four doors, good size. The scene shifts to reveal Integra, who looks quite pleased with herself. ]

As much as I enjoy the horses, I went and bought a car. The payments were low enough, and while it isn't... exactly what I am used to driving, it will do. I went to the DMV a few days ago to get a license, and now I am on my way to go get the vehicle registered.

[ Pausing, she peers back at it. No more walking, no more getting horses and carriages ready... this is going to be a very, very good thing. Or bad thing, depending on her driving. This is also a good distraction from the loss of Walter. ]

Would any of my housemates want to join me? [ Yeah. She's wanting to show this thing off, okay. Who wants to take a ride with Integra? ]

You've been using horses until now? In the city? [It shouldn't surprise him, but he can't quite keep a note of it down in his voice.]

...Not entirely. My grandfather and Doctor Seward... in their time, there were no cars. Simply horse drawn carriages, so naturally that is what we have here. I usually just walked everywhere, honestly.

[voice]

[He chuckles dryly.] I was going to say that it hardly seemed practical- it must look like the start of a funeral procession.

Or a wedding procession, yes. Fortunately, I can now teach them the wonders of cars.

A far more positive analogy. The modern age will welcome them with modern arms, I'm sure- though it sounds as though they've survived relatively well without you so far.

They have. Perhaps they won't like this... but they'll still have their horses, so it'll be alright, I think.

True. Though [chuckling] I can't promise you that I wouldn't startle their horses with my horn if I got caught behind them in traffic at rush hour.

[integra_hellsing]

You wouldn't be the first. It's happened several times, really. [ She chuckles as well. No one had been hurt, after all, so looking back on it... it was pretty funny. ]

[And the chuckle turns into a laugh at that.] You don't say? One of the many risks of city life, I suppose. Poor beasts- the horses, that is.

[Ooo er... Miss Integra can drive, right? Sure she can, else she wouldn't have gotten a license, or bought a car. This won't be like her attempts at cooking.]

[ NICE CAR, RIGHT? You should take a drive iwth her, Seras. ]

Thank you. I think it will move us about quicker than the horses, don't you agree?

Definately. [Not that Seras needs a vehicle but well, it's much less of a spectacle to use a vehicle.]

I was hoping you'd want to. Are you in the house? If not, I can come pick you up.

Just down in the basement, I'll be out in a jiffy! [Maybe this will be fun, after a miserable couple of weeks Seras could really go for some fun.]

Alright. I'll be out here waiting.

[ She hums, and then finally ends the feed; there's no reason for it since you know. Seras will be here momentarily. ]

[And out the door she comes, ready and willing and possibly unknowing of what she's going to get herself into.]

Looks even better in person, got a name for it, Miss Integra? [Half-joking.]

[ Yep. We be riding in style now, Police Girl, and you're pretty much fucked once you get into the passengers seat. Just fyi. ]

A name -- hm. I don't know... do you have any ideas~?

[She's baaaack. Have a Hattie looking smug and fanning herself.]

Oh, so you finally have a car, do you? Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the modern age~.

[ OHOHO. Herro there, Hattie. Integra merely narrows her eyes ever so slightly. ]

Not all of us have the sort of money to buy one when they first arrive here. Tell me, do YOU have a car?

[blondandperfect]

[A good question, of course. In fact it looked like she was waiting for you to ask that. And so with a haughty laugh she replies ]

Oh I got one such a looong time ago. I can't even remember the exact date, really. But you're right, you're right, not everyone can be as accomplished as m- er, other people.

There's no shame in that~, though. It's a.. It's.. A 'nice' vehicle. I'm happy for you!

[ A change of subject is appropriate, she feels. She wants to make you squirm, Hattie. ]

How have you enjoyed your time here thus far, hm? Have you gone outside at night yet?

I've been just fine, thank you very much~. In fact I've had quite the stroke of luck the past few weeks, couldn't be happier! Want to take a guess at what I bought yesterday?

[... The heck? Well that was a short lived victory!]

Wh- What? Why would I want to go and do something like that? Once was more than enough!

[integra_hellsing]

I should probably tell you right now that I do not care what you bought yesterday, but congratulations on your little stroke of luck.

[ Integra finally smiles, but it's more for appearances, really. ]

Oh, so you DID go out at night once. Did it frighten you? Can you not fight...?

[Hattie's eyes half-lid. She's not really buying the congratulations, and she's sensing that Integra is up to something.. She's just not sure what exactly.]

Er.. W- Well, I.. It's a little difficult to explain really. I suppose it was more like sipping old milk: Not really something you'd want to do twice. I'm sure you know what I mean.. Maybe.

[She gains confidence to the second question though.]

Fight? Do I look like some sort of uncouth barbarian? What about you?

[ Integra tilts her head ever so slightly, a slender blond brow arching. ]

Mm. No, I cannot say I know what you mean at all. The things that happen at night here are nothing compared to what was going on in my home world when I was forced here.

[ That last bit has her smile widening, unfortunately. ]

Every woman should know how to handle herself. As for me, of course I do... I am a knight, after all, and it is my job. Did I not tell you the last time that we spoke that my hands were stained~?
