Good Morning Siren's Port! Both Oz Vessalius and I, Earl Ciel Phantomhive, would like to welcome everyone to Funtom's Cake Challenge! Three teams will be pitted against one another to bake and decorate the most elaborate, captivating and delicious cake they can for the grand prize of one thousand dollars to each individual member of the winning team.

But, Ciel! Don't forget, if they fail to finish their cake in time, they'll forfeit the money. [ he sips at his tea ] Isn't there a charity we could give it to instead? [ mmhmm. he's doubting the team's ability to finish. Are you really going to take that? ]

Well, there is the Newcomer Fund, but surely one of the teams will win. Each team will be judged by our team of five judges consisting of Gabriel, Madam Red, Xerxes Break, Allen Walker and Franziska Von Karma. Do your best - they will not be judging your creations lightly.

[ Oz's eyes go wide ] That's quite a list and it certainly won't be easy for our players to make an impression on our judges. [ do some of them even taste their food? But then he giggles. ] Should we warn them to stay on their toes? I know of at least one judge who likes to show up in the oddest places. [ yes, Break. That's you. He has high hopes for you! Just don't eat all the cake. ]

Batter will fly and so will mixing spoons, I believe. Keep your wits about you, contestants, the whole port will be watching!

And don't forget, if you see something you like -- or dislike -- send in your texts, your comments, anything! Our contestants won't be responding, but they might just see something to egg them on because, that's right, they'll be able to see and hear every word of it too as we'll be broadcasting the stream right over their heads.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to it. Things could get really interesting, don't you think?

_{[Ciel nods in agreement, lifting his teacup off the saucer.]} I do. May the best team win - let the competition begin!

I've had a few days to think about it. Besides. [He shrugged and turned the cup in his hand, then cut a grin up at Frau. There's determination in his gaze, and a quiet resolve.]

I've got a big responsibility, don't I? If I want to continue to carry this baton forward, and remember all of the important things Mikage and Hakuren, you, and even Shuri have taught me... then I want to help the people that are willing to be my friends. That's the path I'm choosing to walk while we're here.

[Frau grins down at Teito, beaming with near fatherly pride. Only, he makes a lousy "father" because he's such a pest, which is only proven when he reaches down to annoyingly ruffle Teito's hair.]

That suits you, brat.

[A faint flush warms his cheeks, even as Teito dodges away from the hand messing up his hair. He's not quite sure what else to say to that, and so he falls silent for a long moment.

Though silence isn't something he lets last for very long.]

Will you come help us out then? At the Cat's Eye.

When I can. No promises it'll be consistent.

[Frau tends to sleep a lot during the day since he usually has the late shifts at the club which are then followed up by hunting. As long as he feels like he's fully in control, he'll help out.]

[That's enough for Teito - more than enough, really. It'll give him more of a chance to keep an eye of Frau, too, given that they essentially work opposite shifts. It's strange not to have Frau popping up to annoy him throughout the day but... he's not quite sure how to explain that so he doesn't really try.

Instead, he just changes the subject.]

Hey Frau? Do you know anything about high schools? Yosuke mentioned it the other day - seems it's a civilian school. Did you have to go to one?

[Frau snorts. Him, at school? He'd spent his early life as a thief, he later life as a pirate, and life, if it could be called that, afterward as an orphan at a church.]

[You mean they didn't have a pirating school? He's just going to roll his eyes.]

I forgot... he told Hakuren and I what you were like as a student, did you know that?

[That nearly freezes Frau in his place. The he could really only be one person, but Frau isn't sure he wants to go there. Slowly he turns his eyes to look at Teito, uncertainty in his eyes. The question comes out barely audible.]
