♕039♕ [Live Stream]

[When the broadcast starts the image above is shown with a short accompanying tune before it fades away to show Ciel and Oz looking rather dapper as they sit at a fancy little table with tea and pieces of cake. Both are smiling as they greet the feed as Ciel begins to address it.]
Good Morning Siren's Port! Both Oz Vessalius and I, Earl Ciel Phantomhive, would like to welcome everyone to Funtom's Cake Challenge! Three teams will be pitted against one another to bake and decorate the most elaborate, captivating and delicious cake they can for the grand prize of one thousand dollars to each individual member of the winning team.
But, Ciel! Don't forget, if they fail to finish their cake in time, they'll forfeit the money. [ he sips at his tea ] Isn't there a charity we could give it to instead? [ mmhmm. he's doubting the team's ability to finish. Are you really going to take that? ]
Well, there is the Newcomer Fund, but surely one of the teams will win. Each team will be judged by our team of five judges consisting of Gabriel, Madam Red, Xerxes Break, Allen Walker and Franziska Von Karma. Do your best - they will not be judging your creations lightly.
[ Oz's eyes go wide ] That's quite a list and it certainly won't be easy for our players to make an impression on our judges. [ do some of them even taste their food? But then he giggles. ] Should we warn them to stay on their toes? I know of at least one judge who likes to show up in the oddest places. [ yes, Break. That's you. He has high hopes for you! Just don't eat all the cake. ]
Batter will fly and so will mixing spoons, I believe. Keep your wits about you, contestants, the whole port will be watching!
And don't forget, if you see something you like -- or dislike -- send in your texts, your comments, anything! Our contestants won't be responding, but they might just see something to egg them on because, that's right, they'll be able to see and hear every word of it too as we'll be broadcasting the stream right over their heads.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to it. Things could get really interesting, don't you think?
[Ciel nods in agreement, lifting his teacup off the saucer.] I do. May the best team win - let the competition begin!
(OOC:) Sorry, I am so late. x_x
You skipped out on what?

He pulls back from the mixing bowl to give her a look. Who hadn't heard of home-ec class? Probably the kind who show up for baking in outdated, but still hot, dresses.]
It's a class that teaches you how to bake and cook and play homemaker. I signed up but never showed up.
no subject
Oh, interesting! You're one of those 'culinary geniuses', are you? [She offers her hand, palm down.] A pleasure to meet you, I'm Hattie of Ehvenn. I'll be the official designer for this little ragtag team.
no subject
I'm Dean... 0Winchester. I'm just here for the prize.
no subject
Oh my! Well good to know we're both on the same page~.
[Sort of. She just wanted to win to have something to hang over Ella's head.. For the most part.]
Would I be overstepping my bounds if I were to ask what you'd do with the prize money?
no subject
[He didn't really know what he'd spend it on. Probably weapons and a way to keep himself afloat here on freak island but getting around and having the comfort of a muscle bound beauty was important to him.]
What about you?
no subject
Oh really! Well, let's see what would I do? I would... Probably buy dinner somewhere in Sector 6. That'd be enough for two, I think.
[But back to more important things! And don't mind that Hattie's keeping her distance, she just doesn't want any batter on her new dress.]
So then, you know how to drive? You wouldn't happen to be looking for work, would you?
no subject
It's a second or two before he puts his eyes back on the bowl he's mixing.]
I'm keepin' my options open.
[He shrugs. It's not a yes but it's definitely not a no. It's asking to hear more about the job opportunity.]
no subject
I ask because.. Well, forgive me for bringing it up in the middle of a competition, but I just so happen to be looking for a driver to help me transport fabrics. It isn't much, really.
no subject
[He shrugs. He's not really sure it's up his alley to be in the transporting business. People, fabric, or anything else. He doesn't say that though. He flashes a grin her way.]
So I'll handle the mixing if you can handle the baking. That way you don't get any batter on that dress.
no subject
[Touched by his consideration for her dress, Hattie agrees to his proposal without being a snob. She cares more about how it will look in the end more than however it may taste, so she doesn't give him a hard time about the mixing inconsistencies.]
All right, so we'll be going for a two layer? That will give plenty of room to really dress up the cake!
no subject
[Dean could only guess that it meant they'd be baking two different cakes. He wonders why he signed up for this again.]
Yeah, sounds good. I'll leave the dressing to you too... I don't really have an artistic hand.
[This whole event was full of things he never thought he'd say.]
no subject
[That makes two of them, Hattie pretty much spontaneously joined, herself. She gives Dean a dismissive wave of her hand.]
Oh of course of course, I intended from the beginning to be responsible for that!
(OOC: I propose we time skip to completion from here, I don't think Nyaruko's coming. :< All in favor?)
ooc; I hope you mean like this. Otherwise I can edit to /end thread. :)
In the end he manages to mix both cakes fine with her help baking them and they don't come out as horrifying as he thought they would.
With the cake layered and decorated by Hattie he has to resist the urge to swipe his finger into the cake and instead dips it into the frosting bowl to steal a bite of frosting.]
Think we have a chance at the cash prize?
ooc; Perfect!
In the end she's left looking quite impressed with the finished product, that her mun will find a picture for later.]
Oh the others don't have a chance! I had some inside information that one of the judges loves red, so the velvet cake should get us at least one 10~.
[She declares with a delighted clap of her hands.]
no subject
[He'll eat anything.]
no subject
Oh that's no big deal, what's important is presentation!
[So really, the cake could have burned and she wouldn't have cared, she had fondant (that she made Dean knead) and she was going to USE ALL OF IT. She applies the finishing touches, placing on the accessories.]
So how are your arms? I'm going to need to you carry this soon~.
no subject
[He never would've thought that cake judging was strictly visual.] Could've fooled me. [He turns that right into a sexual pun. Not that she'll get it.]
[He finally sets the icing dish down.]
I can handle it, sweetheart.
[And he could. He'd gone to dukes with things heavier than this cake.
Really he should be ashamed he even took part in making something like this but as long as no one found out he'd be fine knowing he had some fun baking with the team he got paired up with. He really should've signed up for Home-Ec if this many chicks were into this stuff, and there was a lot of 'em around.]
no subject
Oh, well, of course it's important, just less so. What I mean to say is that the first impression is the most important.
[Sadly, yes, that does go right over her head. The good news is he's saved a maidenly slap as result~.] Hattie. [Correcting the 'sweetheart' comment.]
Excellent. Then we'll need to bring it to the judges table and we'll be done for the day!
And I must thank you for being such a good 'sport'. I'm certain I've come off as a bit.. Demanding, at times.
no subject
[He definitely wasn't going to forget making a cake this girly.] Lead the way.
[Dean follows her over to the judging table.] Don't mention it. You're not the first lady that's bossed me around and you won't be the last.
