[Hey, Portians. Yosuke is done hiding behind the voice function, seeing that his face isn't uglied up that badly these days. In fact, if you ignore the big cast on one arm, he looks pretty much like the usual old Yosuke. Albeit, he hasn't touched up the roots of his hair (oh look, he's a brunette after all) which is definitely weird for him, he looks cheerful enough.]

[You've missed these up the nose shots while he finds the camera angle he likes, admit it.]

Hi, everyone.

I wanted to thank the people who helped with the Open Mic night, and everyone who turned up for it too of course. It was a pretty good success! Because some money was made, I have good news to announce.

The Cat's Eye will be open now every Tuesday and Saturday, all day long. Our manager Raul Creed-san isn't available for comment, but I promise you that I'm the executive type of dishwasher, and I'm authorized to make this sort of declaration.

We wanted to kick off this Saturday with a special menu, but since we haven't found a cook yet we might need to take a rain check for that. But I promise I make really great coffee, and our beautiful barmaid Nill-san will keep your glasses full.

Um, about that. Does anyone have some cooking experience? If you don't mind...let's say "growing with a business" it should be a great second job! I promise, the boss isn't a huge jerk.

Anyway, besides that there was one thing. I uh...I guess I need to learn a few things about accounting and that sort of stuff. Since I haven't finished high school, and I don't really want to, is there a way not to bother with university? Aren't there some technical schools around, maybe? That way I don't have to waste time learning.

...Extra things, I mean. Uh.

[Youko stops in front of the cafe at the arranged hour. She looks different from the last time she has been in the Port. Her built is athletic, her crimson hair's dyed auburn and she's not trying to be feminine and looking docile in the least. Her pair of jeans, loose t-shirt and specially the shrouded blade she carries at her back makes it hard to buy that old harmless persona of hers.

She inspects the streets and the crowd before going in.]

[Yosuke is a little surprised when he glances up and sees Youko. She looks so different from the girl he'd gotten to know before. He ses aside the cup of tea he's been having, and hops down from the counter he's seated on.]

YOuko-chan, hi. No trouble finding me, I guess?

Not at all.

[She answers while she bows her head slightly as greeting. She scans the layout of the place. Just in case something happens and she needs to fight. She can't lower her guard. AGI and SERO people were pushy when dealing with business.]

Hi.

Did you bring something to eat?

[He doesn't comment on the cautious attitude, just cheerfully gets down to business. It's pretty awesome that today's business includes stuffing his face with whatever delicious things the cooks-to-be bring in.]

I brought obento. It was the easiest to carry with me.

[She explains putting the small backback on the nearest chair. After unzipping it, Youko pulls out two black lunch boxes with varied food packed: from tandoori chicken to spring rolls.

She serves them on the table in front of him and waits for his judgment.]

Wow, you couldn't choose so you just brought everything, right?

[Tandoori chicken seems like a strange thing to put in a box lunch to Yosuke, but when he tries it, it tastes just fine. He swallows that and tries the next thing. He's already been fed twice today, so he's not ravenous. He takes the time to savor the food, and makes his way around both of the boxes slowly, trying a bite of everything. It's all pretty good. He grins.]

Mm, not bad! I'd say there's definitely a place in our kitchen for you, if you like.

Seems that way. But you wouldn't know what I could do if I didn't have a good variety.

[That's the game plan. If she's serious about something, she'll just not stop and consider what's 'proper' anymore. She folds her arms and remains standing in front of the table. Her eyes flicker sometimes to the sides.]

So that means I'm hired. Great.

Sure. I was going to hire you anyway, to tell you the truth. But the fact you can actually cook is a definite bonus.

Huh.

[She doesn't like... to hear that. But she can overlook it.]

For the best. I'll be useless here if I didn't know how to cook.

Nah, we would have just found something else for you to do.

[He grins, and shrugs.]

When Fai-sama hired me I was terrible at my job! He had to put me in the back washing dishes instead. But he kept me anyway, because he knew I needed the work. It wouldn't be in the right spirit if I didn't do the same for you, would it?

You're trying to follow his steps then?

[She hasn't met Fai to know what kind of person he was.]

Uh...well, maybe? It's too soon to tell I guess. But it's useless not to help people when you're able to, right?

If that's your goal.

[ Right now, hers is helping herself. ]

Mm, it definitely is. Even before I came here it was, so there's no reason not to keep following through with it, right?

[The hair and the clothes are obvious changes, but as for the rest he hasn't picked up on any of that yet. So it's less rubbing it in than it is him assuming she'll agree.]

I guess so. Sometimes people's goals can change with time.

[She gives a shrug, then considers her main goal.]

But mine hasn't changed either.

[She wants to go home. The only thing in her mind even when she's been starving and covered in wounds in lonely mountain roads. That's keep her going.]

Maybe so. Well, hey, let me go grab your paperwork for you.

[He thumps his good hand on the table cheerfully.]

You'll have to witness for me, since I can only sign with an X at the moment. Hope you don't mind.

Huh.

[She shakes her head.]

I don't mind. Just tell me what to do.

See? You're great at foodservice already.

Great to know that I have a future in this field.

[It's hard to tell whether that's sarcasm or not, so he just nods and smiles, then goes to grab the paperwork. It's probably for the best she'll be in the kitchen instead of working with the customers...]

[That's on purpose. Youko doesn't even know either anymore. She follows him to give him a hand with the paperwork.]

[Theres not a ton of it, but there's general employee information, tax papers, liability papers, and salary agreement. It's not much, just a bit above minimum, and he glances away when he offers her that one. ]

We can review that later once the place gets back on its feet, you know?

[She reads them carefully. Youko's no fool-not anymore or she wouldn't have survived in Kou-and pays attention to the fine print.]

Maybe you should start with some advertising in the Network news feed.

[If they do something special like a week of different international cuisine. Not that Youko can help him outside of Chinese and Japanese food.]
