I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm all back to normal now. Um, thank you for everyone who was concerned or offered to help. It really does mean a lot.

[Still, despite that good news, her voice doesn't very relieved or happy. It doesn't sound sad, either; it's carefully neutral instead as she moves on.]

That's not really all I wanted to say, though. For anyone who knew Davesprite while he was here, he's gone home. He was, um, the orange boy with the wings. The timing seems pretty bad, I know, but I'm sure he wasn't in the hunt, so nobody should worry about that. I called and it kept ringing, so... For what it's worth, though, I'm sorry to all the friends he had here.

I guess that's all I really had to say.

[She pauses for a minute.]

Do you think if someone told you they came from a really bad world, and they got sent home, there's a chance it would fix itself quick so they could be safe?

How do you mean?

Like... If they said it was really violent and dangerous, do you think there's a chance it could get better and they wouldn't get hurt?

[He hesitates, not wanting to lie to her but not wanting to upset her either. There's definitely more going on here than meets the eye.]

I don't think it works like that. A world...probably wouldn't change just like that.

But they can change. Everything can.

I know they can change. I mean, mine got a lot better. But I know people who are just from bad worlds overall, too. I guess I just wish...

Do you ever wish you could know how your friends who had gone home were doing back there? I mean - that's a stupid question, of course you do.

[He's quiet for a moment.]

Yeah, I do. All the time. I wish I could at least send them a letter or something.

Yeah. I just...

[There's a pause, but her voice is a bit thicker when she resumes.]

He said he didn't want to go home. That he used to have nightmares about the kind of stuff that happened to him back there.

I'm sorry. I wish I could promise everything is okay for him back there, and I can't.

But one thing I learned from being here is even when things seem like they're the worst they can ever get, there's a chance you'll still be okay. That's got to be true for his world too.

Don't apologize. You don't have anything to be sorry for.

Yeah, you're probably right.

I can be sorry that he left.

I really hope he's okay.

But you still didn't do anything.

I guess... There's still a chance he might come back.
