[ Well, he's taken some time to mull over what Magento told him about his time in the Port: the time he doesn't remember. And thinking it over, trying to reason it out, searching for a shred of memory to explain why he'd done it... nothing like that had worked. So, finally, the younger Winchester comes over the feed, his voice almost jerky, mechanical. To many, it may seem like he's just tired, but to those who know him well... ]

[ He trails off, and then clears his throat. ]

[ Jesse decided to make this private, for what he is about to say next. ]

I know you don't remember it, but I do. What happened back home, I mean. When that demon came into my house while inside my real mom and told me everything, it said something about you being a monster.

[ Wow, Jesse, what a way to start a conversation. He is quick to add: ]

But that's not true, 'cause you're human. You said so yourself that we make choices, but we'll regret the wrong ones, and monsters don't do that.

You said that you believe that someone can make the right choice, when you didn't.

[ Another pause, clearly struggling to find words. ]

But I think you can.

[ ....yeah that's a little preachy even for Jesse, so this is getting kinda awkward now. ]

[ It's not awkward for Sam. In fact, despite that he doesn't remember their meeting, Jesse's said so many things right. Sam's mouth runs dry as he listens to his own words in the kid's mouth, and he looks away briefly. It sounds like something he'd say, so... now, it's like he's giving himself advice. The briefest of smiles rises to his lips, and he glances back at the device, though he still has it voice-only. ]

... Thanks. I think you're right, and... I'll remember that.

[ Hold on to it, for later. Try to keep himself from going under all the terrible things that'd happened recently. ]
