[ Apparently, while it's raining cats and dogs outside, Ella is sitting at a table with her head on her hands in the dining room today, the NV resting open in front of her. Distantly the sound of banging is heard, some chatter and suchlike. Ella opens her mouth to address the network. ]
I can handle the banging and all, that's just a necessary evil. But the pa-thetic pick up lines are just embarrassing. I feel terrible, but I actually laughed at that poor man working on the office in the back, and now he can't even look at me. [ It's not her fault! "Hey, you come here often?" is not an appropriate line when the person lives there! Before she can say anything further, Hattie's voice intrudes. ]
Ella~! Wine! ... please.
[ Ella responds thusly. By placing her hands on the table and keening in the most IRRITATING whiny voice she can muster. ]
But I don't -waaaaaaaaanna- get uuuuuuuuuuup! Why do I have to do EEEEEEVerythiiiiiiiiiiing! It's not faiiiiiiiiiiiiiir, why can't you get it yourseeeeeeeeeeeeelf. You're right theee-
[ Thankfully, Hattie cuts her off. ]
Not *THAT* kind of wine! REGULAR Wine! NOW. Please.
[ Ella jerks to her feet automatically, but she's laughing, under her breath. It was worth a shot. She's spitting in the wine though. She's taking the NV with her too. ]
I'm amazed she said "please". In case you're curious, we're getting some major remodeling done on the house. Expensive, but worth it in the end. [ Considering the alternative was losing a room she had been using for her own little sanctuary. ]
Word of advice. If you get some remodeling done, avoid Crazy Eddy's Construction - he shows up at the door in a /chicken suit/. A giant. Chicken suit.

An office?
Yeah, for Hattie's business. It's ... still kind of rough, but it's easier for her to run things with a separate office rather than taking over one of the house rooms.
I see. You are still helping her?
Of course. I made a promise to help her out. At least until she gets employees of her own.
She is hiring?
[He has thinky thoughts.]
There are uniforms?
She might change her mind if she gets more employees. [ As she also doubts Hattie would want to -pay- for the uniforms. ]
[But he'd trust Ella to keep an eye out for them, not Hattie.]
If the uniforms are not derogatory.
Who do you know? I can give them a call. [ Because if they are interested, maybe it'll free Ella up a lot. Hopefully. ]
