[It's after the night siren and Bruce is looking frazzled, irritated, and... like he forgot that he'd been getting ready to sleep, since he's wearing boxers and glasses and apparently nothing else. As he settles his NV, a pair of mice skitter across the desk he's set it on. There are little movements in the background and Bruce has to stop and hop around, cursing under his breath as something apparently runs over his foot.]

Okay, look, the Darkness thing I'm up on, but is it common for random objects like, say, my pillow to turn into mice?

Or I could just cast a reversal spell on your apartment and see if that undoes whatever magic affected your pillow.

I'm not the only person who lives here, and I don't know if he has anything magical he would be unhappy to have reversed.

I'm not disparaging, but I don't feel okay giving permission for you to use magic on a space I share for something that isn't an emergency.

No, I know. With how much it's just consumed my life, it's easy to forget how new magic is to other people.

Up until about a month... [He stops to consider and nods to himself.] ...about a month ago, I didn't believe in it at all. There's something about running afoul of a couple of Norse gods that made me realign my beliefs somewhat, although I think it's probably still a case of Clarke's third law.

Maybe. [With a smile.] But as far as I know, advanced technology doesn't come with cosmic rules attached.

You say cosmic rules, I say physics.

Physics in your world. The cosmic rules I'm talking about are much more spiritual than anything you could measure with math.

[Bruce decides that discretion is the better part of avoiding a theological debate.]

After a few weeks here, I'm willing to believe that things are different where you're from. In an infinite number of universes, an infinite number of scenarios are not just possible but probable.

[Theology nothing. Prue doesn't even like thinking about God- it makes her head hurt.]

After everything I've seen, I definitely believe that. Your world sounds like it makes a lot more sense than mine.

Mostly it makes more sense to me, barring the crazy Norse gods and alien invasions.

...Aliens? Norse gods I've heard plenty about, but aliens are a new one.

If they're from the other side of the universe, that counts as alien to me. The Norse gods count as alien too, actually; they aren't from Earth after all.
