[It's after the night siren and Bruce is looking frazzled, irritated, and... like he forgot that he'd been getting ready to sleep, since he's wearing boxers and glasses and apparently nothing else. As he settles his NV, a pair of mice skitter across the desk he's set it on. There are little movements in the background and Bruce has to stop and hop around, cursing under his breath as something apparently runs over his foot.]

Okay, look, the Darkness thing I'm up on, but is it common for random objects like, say, my pillow to turn into mice?

[Kevin is not amused. Because the mice got out of Bruce's room.]

MIMSY! Gimme that!

[Snapped. Kevin takes the mangled mouse and disposes of it. Powers are good for something, apparently.]

Dr. Banner?

Kevin. [Bruce pokes his head out of his room and winces.]

Sorry. Is Mimsy okay?

She's fine. Mimsy don't -

[She takes off under the cabinet after another mouse. DADDY! A SQUEAKY THING!]

I'm gonna call someone an' see if'n he c'n help get Loki t'fix it.

[Bruce glances over his shoulder into his room and back out at Kevin.]

Thanks. I'm really sorry about the Loki thing.

Uh... I hope you don't mind. I have someone over. Don't worry, we'll keep it down.

[And don't mind his ears being red, okay?]

It's yer house too, Dr. Banner. Ain't a big thing. I'll be in m'workshop.

Mimsy...

[DADDY! SQUEAKY THING! A tail dangles out of her mouth.]

[If Kevin won't mind Bruce's ears doing the same thing since he knows how it looks, even if that's not where he thinks it's going.]

I know it is, but... we can talk about it later.

[He winces at Mimsy's excitement.] I should warn you that I think Loki will probably try this again. He's way too interested in seeing me lose my temper.

[Kevin sighs and pries the mouse out of her mouth, dissolving the corpse. She whines and starts looking for another one. DADDY TOOK HER TOY!]

Loki ain't never seen me lose mine.

[Kevin hates using his powers and Loki's forcing him to.]

I'll see 'bout gettin' a cat or somethin'.

I don't want to see you lose yours. [But he doesn't make the standard offer of anger management techniques]

I'll take care of the mice. Cats tend to go straight for people who don't want them around and I don't want to do that to you.

[No one on the island has seen him lose his temper. Because it takes a lot for him to do so.]

I'll see if'n I c'n borrow Tolly. She knows better'n to bother me an' she c'n kill the mice.

[Hopefully, Frau won't mind.]

If you can trust her, that would be good. I just don't want to see this get any worse. [He knows it's not his fault, but if he weren't living there, Kevin wouldn't be subjected to the mouse invasion.]

[Kevin smiles crookedly.]

Don't worry 'bout it. Loki's jus' a kid. I know who c'n talk t'him.

If he's just a kid he needs a Thor-sized time out. Do we have someone who can give him one?

[No, he absolutely does not gain a wicked grin. He remembers something.]

I might know a couple. I'll see if'n they'll give us a hand.

That would make my day.

Mine too. I'll be downstairs if'n ya need me, Dr. Banner. An' there's plenty o' treats in the fridge an' freezer if'n y'all get hungry.

Okay, thanks again. [He manages not to apologize a third time, but it's a near thing.] In the morning maybe we can open the doors and shoo some of the mice outside.

If'n we cain't, I'll get Tolly an' traps. I ain't havin' mice get inta the bakin' supplies.

G'night, Dr. Banner. C'mon Mimsy.

[He turns for the door to the garage. He's ready to get to work. Bruce might begin to notice, he spends most of his nights down there.]
