It's been awhile since I've even thought about a beach or water or anything. [Bad memories...] I think it's time I jumped back into it, though.

They said they got a moonbounce underwater. I didn't even know you can do that!

Are you serious? That would be so trippy.

I know! I want to try it out so badly.

They need one of those water slides that take you all the way under the water. Like the kind in the Bahamas with the glass walls.

Someones going to take you to a water park? [man, that sounded like the best idea EVER. Doesn't matter that he has no idea who you are, that just sounds amazing!]

[ Well, more like teleporting to it, but Jesse doesn't feel the need to say that. ]

[the look on his face? Yeah... a little surprised and a twist of envy.. he's not allowed to go ANYWHERE alone] No one tells you that you can't go alone?

[ Jesse wants to feel smug about it . . . except even before Sam and Dean knocked on his door, he always managed to do just fine. He was able to take care of himself, walking back to school and fixing his own meals and staying at home by himself. There's no freedom in it, because the lies his parents told him kept him from going out on his own for sure.

And he can't help but feel a little envy for the boy responding. He has someone with him, someone he will never have to leave a note behind and just go, to avoid dangers that no one can ever believe. ]

I really don't have anybody. It's just me.

[For Ben, he doesn't understand that. He always had his mom, no matter what, and then Dean and Mary now that he hasn't got that. He was scared at first, but now he was okay.]

[He still wanted his mom so badly, but he had a home at least, and the nightmares weren't too bad. Still... he's trapped here, and can't even go looking for home, and this boy? He's on his own? Come and go as he pleases?]

Really? You live on your own? How old are you?

I have an apartment in the Towers. I've been using the funds to get by. [ A pause. ] I'm eleven.

[You just turned into Big Brother.... because you are THAT cool. He blinked, then grinned]

Mary's apartment is here too! You really live here alone? That's really insane! Aren't you scared any? [Yes, omfg, someone around his age (kind of, he is 8 after all) who lives in the same complex!]

[ It's weird: Jesse has always been scared. Scared of buzzers that will electrocute people; scared of pop rocks and coke can make people sick, that making funny faces can make them freeze permanently. It's only when an angel in a trench coat came inside his house, Jesse has stopped being scared and started to be terrified. He became hurt and angry when the lies revealed themselves. Then he became scared again, as he is half demon, and there are real things that go bump into the night that not the tall tales can describe the absolute horror.

And how he is in what feels like a wasteland - there's nothing here for Jesse. Not really. And that is scary, when just not too long ago he had everything. But he can't admit that. Admitting it to people is just a step closer to show just what he is.

I make sure the Darkness don't come inside, so I don't have much to worry about.

[Oh Jesse... you poor guy. Come be a little boy with Ben and just... be young and not always so scared.]

We do that too. Got.. um... got that stuff, um... Darkness proofing or something. To keep the place safe. And we don't go out at night. Or, I don't. So you stay in at night too? Where are you? Maybe you're on the same floor as me! Do you got any friends around here? I got a Meowth! Not really a friend but it works.

[oh. my. god. Please forgive his rambling. He's not really got many friends near his age here, and the summer camp he goes to in the day time is full of dicks with powers and he has none ...]

[ This brings a smile to Jesse. He remembers his friends from home, before he has to leave. He'll never see them again, but he can still have friends here, right? Even if so far they tend to be adults. ]

[The Hulk? He makes no comment on that. Everyone knows the Hulk isn't real. Comic books and all---okay he's still learning. ANYHOW, he grins though] It's a Pokemon. Do you know what they are? This one is a scratch cat pokemon and he talks. He's really awesome but a bit of a grump at times.

And there's a Pony too! She's yellow and pink and shy. [he's... not talked to the strange little girl horse in some time though. huh. he should check on her]

[ A Pokemon? And a pony? ]

[ Geez. So many adults. ]

When was the last time you had something really good? Like your mom used to make?

[ Oh wow, when was the last time his mom cook him anything? ]

I remember she made some really good Shepard's Pie.

D'you want someone to make you shepherd's pie? Or anything different, maybe? I mean, I remember when I was first living on my own, and for a month all we could afford was rice. I got so sick of it. I'd hate to think of you having to deal with that, you know?

[You see small child she's just a friend doing a friendly thing. Not trying to meddle as a grown-up or anything.]
