So ... I recently arrived and I still haven't been to many places in this city. It's nowhere near as huge as Ba Sing Se — that's the biggest one back where I come from — but still pretty large. We should go explore it. [ Oops, that was a bit out of the blue, wasn't it? Not in his head, until he checks himself. ] Here, not there. Not right now, unless — you want to? I mean, I'm free, but I can wait for you if you don't take too long, I'd like to get to know where everything is.

[ Screwing his eyes shut against irritation (yes, over himself, because who insults the people they're trying to introduce themselves to?), he somewhat starts again. ]

Or I could help you out ... maybe. I don't know how much good burning things would do. [ Lifting a hand, it's clearly on fire with crackling flames and not perturbing him at all as he forgets to waft it away. ] I've suddenly got a lot of time on my hands, if anyone wants to bother doing stuff.

[ There is a flash of blue light, followed by the quick appearance of wind encircling the length of John's frame. It's gone in the next moment. ]

Uh. [ He blinks, finally setting himself upright so the blood can stop rushing down his head now. ] Okay? Where do you want to meet up?

[ That might be Zuko heading out of his window, climbing higher to get to the roof. ]

Just keep an eye out for my flamethrowers, I'll signal you over.

Okay! Then I guess I will see you soon.

[ The view behind him is changing again. He's flying upwards to get a better vantage point. Flamethrowers shouldn't be that hard to spot, right? ]

[ Not the kind that Zuko has to offer. Nodding his assent, he turns off the NV and leaves it in the guttering of the roof as he ascends, heading to the flatter middle-ground.

A few forms later and there are flamethrowers being blasted into the heavens from martially-trained kicks and powerful punches; it may look random, but he never deviates from issuing roaring fireballs and the like into the exact same direction.

He doesn't want to toast this new airbender. Whoever he is, he gets to approach Zuko, not the other way around. ]

[ Feeling the rush of air whipping against his face is something he's never going to sick of. It's like breathing to him by now, because it's already second-nature to zip across the skies without a single care in the world. He gets so caught up in this that he almost forgets why he's flying in the first place, but then—

There they are: pillars of fire that indicate where he should be headed.

He wastes no time in getting there, slowing down as soon as he gets nearer. When he sees Zuko, he perks up, waves at him to let him know he's been spotted before he begins his descent. He's careful enough to avoid the flames, too.

All the way down, he starts raving. ]

Duuuude! That was so cool!! Really cool. [ Right about here is where his feet finally touches the ground. ] Can you make bigger ones than that.

[ He stops kicking fireballs into the sky when the other boy flies down without a glider, making Zuko's eyes widen even more. He's so enthusiastic that Aang is immediately brought to mind again unbidden. ]

I could, but ... are you really an airbender? Who are you? Where are you from?

Well, I can manipulate air and stuff... [ He even proves it again by making a tiny ball of wind pop up on his hand, and it only goes away once he closes his fist. ] But I don't really know if that counts as airbending?

[ He's always called it doing the windy thing. Gods don't need to bend air, right? ]

I'm John Egbert though! And I'm from Washington. Who are you supposed to be?

It definitely counts. Avatar Aang can do that stuff too, he's the last airbender where I'm from, so ... this is kind of incredible, John. Meeting you.

[ Oh, welp, intros! ]

I'm Zuko, prince of the Fire Nation and heir to the throne. Also, um, a firebender like I said.

[ He perks up yet again, and his smile brightens. ]

So you know someone else who can do the windy thing too? That's so awesome! I think I'm like, the only one who can do this stuff back where I came from.

But whoa. You're a prince? Does that mean I should call you your highness or something?

No, just call me Zuko. You don't have to be weird about it.

[ He's pretty sure an airbender can do whatever da fuq they want after all Zuko's family has done to their nation, welp. Which is an interesting point, since John seems to be from elsewhere altogether ... ]

Okay! Zuko it is.

[ So. Cool. He just made a new friend and that friend can even manipulate fire. It's safe to say that John is the picture-perfect example of satisfied excitement, but that soon melts away at the next question thrown at him. ]

... Uh. I don't think they exist? I mean, my friends have different powers instead. The game probably has some weird mechanism to make sure no two players are the same? I don't really know.
