[It's Saturday morning and Bruce's NV is propped against something to show him seated with a cup of something (tea, considering the string and tag hanging over the cup's lip) in the foreground. People move behind him, some holding cups of coffee before they take seats out of the camera's view. Looks like he's at an outdoor cafe. It also looks like he's found a charity that offers clothes to the poor and/or new arrivals because he's wearing a slightly dingy pale green button-down shirt with the cuffs rolled up over his forearms and a couple of buttons left open at the collar.]

Hiring in Siren's Port doesn't go the way it does most other places, does it? I couldn't give the panel at Siren's Port University my CV and published papers for examples of my work, but a few days of filling white boards with equations seems to have done the trick. It's much faster than hiring back home, too, but I guess there's a lot of turnover around here.

In addition, I'm offering my services as an after hours tutor while the days are long and until I go home, whenever that may be. If you need help with math or science up to the post-graduate level in most disciplines, contact me [he leans forward and swipes his fingers over the display, and a link appears at the bottom of the video screen] and we can make arrangements.

In the meantime, I'm at Cafe Bijan, and there are a few people who have been helpful to me since I arrived that I would happily buy a coffee. [He smiles, and the humor is meant mostly for himself and maybe one other person.] Unless you don't drink... coffee.

I'm going to try to look at it as an opportunity to go deeper into quantum physics. [It's either that or spend way too much time way too pissed off, and that wouldn't be good for anyone.]

It's a thing, yes. [He could reassure Roxas that just because he's one of the great minds of his generation doesn't mean he doesn't do stupid and/or awkward things.]

So...what are quantum physics for, anyway?

That's... kind of a big question. I'll oversimplify by saying that quantum physics, or quantum mechanics, finds the math that describes the universe, but what's interesting is that the math doesn't match what we observe.

Nuclear physics made more sense to me.

[Oh, yeah. Everyone knows nuclear physics are way easier.]

Sounds like a real headache.

Do they work the same in every world?

[Yeah, well hand Bruce a keyblade and see what he can do... a whole lotta nothing.]

It's not for everyone.

That's a really good question. If you subscribe to many-worlds interpretation, then yes, but if you're more on the chaotic inflation theory side of things, each universe would have its own physical constants.

[Most of those words are so much gibberish to him, but—]

Oh, there are definitely many worlds out there.

[It's kind of an obscure dialect.]

I'm getting that. Many-worlds interpretation and chaotic inflation theory both agree on that, but many-worlds says that all the other worlds share the fundamental laws and underpinnings I know from my universe. I'm kind of starting to get the impression that might not be right. [Blithe understatement there.]

So you might be able to test it, but only if you could get to the other worlds to see?

Guess that's not going to work from here.

The only world I want to get to is my own. So I can either sit here and wait for the Core to decide on its own to send me home, or I can provide myself with the illusion of action by studying quantum mechanics as though it might do me any good.

But enough about me. [He looks abashed and shifts his eyes away from the camera] Were you looking for a tutor?

[Roxas is about to say something awkwardly sympathetic when this guy surprises him.]

Me? Not really. I don't think I know enough math and stuff anyway. I've never actually gone to school.

[Bruce's turn to be surprised.]

Never?

[He could explain that Sora has and some of that knowledge carried over, but what are the odds this guy would understand about having another self?]

[Gee, what are the odds...?]

You said so far. Are you making plans to go?

It'd be kinda hard to go and run a business at the same time.

[Also, he doesn't want to.]

But I learn stuff when I want to. I've studied with friends before.

I don't mean to offend, but how do you run a business in an industrialized city like this one with no education?

Oh, Didi and Mr. Godot taught me. He's kind of our business advisor, too. And a lawyer if we need it, but we never have.

Then don't sell yourself short; you do have some education, just not the classroom kind.

Sector 3's a little high end for my budget right now, but once I get on my feet, I'll pay it a visit.

How do you get your international blends?

Sure. Not all our stuff's expensive, only Mr. Godot's really fancy mixes.

And...you know, I'm not sure. I know they import stuff, but I don't know how they actually get it onto the island without getting stuck from the Pull.

[Maybe they parachute it in.]

Someone somewhere has to know how these outside items get in. I'll keep looking until I find them.

And I'll come by to try your tea sometime.

It's probably not a secret or anything. There's a lot about how the city's run I don't know.

[He nods.] Cool. New arrivals get a free drink. Just ask for Roxas.
