[It's Saturday morning and Bruce's NV is propped against something to show him seated with a cup of something (tea, considering the string and tag hanging over the cup's lip) in the foreground. People move behind him, some holding cups of coffee before they take seats out of the camera's view. Looks like he's at an outdoor cafe. It also looks like he's found a charity that offers clothes to the poor and/or new arrivals because he's wearing a slightly dingy pale green button-down shirt with the cuffs rolled up over his forearms and a couple of buttons left open at the collar.]

Hiring in Siren's Port doesn't go the way it does most other places, does it? I couldn't give the panel at Siren's Port University my CV and published papers for examples of my work, but a few days of filling white boards with equations seems to have done the trick. It's much faster than hiring back home, too, but I guess there's a lot of turnover around here.

In addition, I'm offering my services as an after hours tutor while the days are long and until I go home, whenever that may be. If you need help with math or science up to the post-graduate level in most disciplines, contact me [he leans forward and swipes his fingers over the display, and a link appears at the bottom of the video screen] and we can make arrangements.

In the meantime, I'm at Cafe Bijan, and there are a few people who have been helpful to me since I arrived that I would happily buy a coffee. [He smiles, and the humor is meant mostly for himself and maybe one other person.] Unless you don't drink... coffee.

[Bruce just blinks at him while he tries to imagine the Hulk out on his own. It's not a pleasant image.]

No rampaging takes place if you worry for that. Likely tired from his fight before that. Dracula, if rumors are true.

[At which point, Bruce relegates everything Loki says to the "bullshit" pile and takes a sip of his tea before looking down at his NV again. The bag of cats factor clearly transcends universes.]

[He waits until Bruce puts down the cup before turning the tea into a brown mouse and the cup into a snake. The predator chases his prey around the table before gobbling the mouse up and voila, it is merely a cup of tea again.]

Sherlock Holmes is in the Port. As well as talking ponies. I'd not discount the contents of a world like your own based on differences. it irks him when he is telling the truth and people think he is lying.] You could always ask Wither.

[It's all Bruce can do to keep from knocking his chair over as he scoots back from the table at least a foot. His pulse has jumped at the bizarre shock and he has to focus to get that under control before he can scoot forward again and tap the cup with a fingernail. He's so focused on working out whether the transformation was real or some kind of special effect that he only absently asks,] Wither?

Deep Southern accent. Knew who you were the first time you posted. It's a thing.

[He watches Bruce tap his finger on the cup] It is perfectly drinkable again.

Neat trick. [Bruce pushes the cup away and puts his NV away as well before Loki decides to turn that into something inconvenient.] Kevin and I'll pass.

You wouldn't happen to have a spear/scepter/staff with a glowing stone would you?

No? Ah- let us clear one thing up, I am no force of evil here. Nor in my own world. No world domination, no enslaving Midgard or the like, either.

It's all snakes and mice and noodle salad then?

Noodle salad? [He does not get the reference.] No no, more like... suicide, reincarnation and second chances. Much more decisive, though terribly light on whiskers and little paws.

[Speaking of missed references...] So you're saying what? That you killed yourself and got another go at things? [Lucky.]

Vastly more complicated than that. [Ikol would be offended that all that bartering and spellwork was reduced to such a base description.] But, essentially, yes. And I do not intend to squander it.

Let's say I buy that, what do you want?

Of you? [Isn't it annoying when someone answers a question with a question.]

[Bruce tilts his head at Loki and gives him a professorial look that says tit for tat, kid.]

[And he is just rolling his eyes like an internet obsessed thirteen year old.] Not a thing, in truth. [Except he's still going to poke and see if anything big and green Hulks out.]

[So far Loki has failed utterly at finding a nerve to poke.]

You don't need tutoring in math or science?

[He'll find one. Probably unintentionally. And at an inopportune moment.

And just the most huffing look ever.] Magic, remember? Mostly I wanted to see if you would flip and Hulk out should I surprise you by simply showing up and tossing a bit of magic about.

[Like that admission surprises Bruce at all...] That's okay, it's probably best that you stay a one-trick pony.

I am not a one trick pony. [Just going to cross his arms and kind of glare.] I was being mostly cautious because I like this place and you are newly arrived. [And magneto would scold him.]

I didn't say it wasn't a versatile trick. [He should stop poking the magic-using godling of trickery.] Now you know. The Other Guy doesn't do command appearances.

Which means I shall have to satisfy myself with Bruce Banner. [He looks down at Bruce's teaspoon.] Look out of the scorpion. [He says without switching tones. And oh, that teaspoon is now a scorpion.]

[Good thing Bruce isn't leaning on the table and that he spent more than enough time in South and Central America that a scorpion doesn't freak him out. He picks up his tea cup, leans over to empty the tea into a flower pot, then traps the scorpion under the cup. He also files Loki's tactics away for future reference when it comes to dealing with him.]

I'm not very interesting.

[He will just laugh. Sorry Bruce, but this just proves that-]

Oh no, but you are.

[What's he going to do? Have an argument that really he isn't? He shrugs noncommittally and picks at a fingernail.]
