The locals have gotten a little ansty lately to pull this latest stunt, honestly I'm not all that surprised. Humanity has been at odds with itself for a long time. It's a bit...sad to see.

[She closes the book and puts it onto a nearby coffee table.]

No matter what we did new people would simply take their place. [Short of burning down everything but the newcomers (and even some of them) there wouldn't be much of a change that would be soon enough.]

In time yes. Failing of humanity. Give them a place were there are no consequences for their cruelty and they will forget they are human - or that others are people as well.

[Some had falsely accused Magneto of that. He had never forgotten that others where people. But he did carry a real and lasting hatred of humanity in general, even if it was more faded now, even if he knew he was wrong for hating them. He was trying though.]
