[ Hello, world. Meet new arrival, Sam Winchester. But you might not know that it's him, because he's not showing his face yet, and: ]

This is Agent Murdock. [ He clears his throat, pausing a moment. ] If anyone's out there, and can hear me, or needs help... just let me know. I'm sort of at a loss, here, and I'd like some information. If this thing is even working, that is.

[ He's confident in his tech abilities, but something's definitely up with his phone. ]

[ Judging by most of the responses, the information bit seems to be covered. But Amy has been slacking on the greeting job anyway. Rough few days. Her Scottish accent is as vibrant as ever though. ]

We're really, most definitely out here. But let me take a few guesses, yeah? You already figured that out, and most of them have already filled you in. Unless you've still got questions, then I can probably help you out. Mostly.

I think I'm all set. [ Despite the tired sound of his voice, there's gratitude there, too. ] Thanks for the offer, though.

I thought so. [ the gratitude is enough anyway. people are usually much grumpier when they first arrive. ] No problem, it's sort of my job anyway.

But can I ask you something? You're not really ... an agent, are you?

How'd you guess? [ There's a sigh-like chuckle. ] I wasn't sure of the circumstances, so... you know, never be too careful.

You paused. [ which she does, holding back a laugh. ] And, well... I might have done it myself. Not here, I mean. But before.

Takes one to know one, I guess. [ There's a smile in his voice. ] Sam Winchester. Nice to meet you.

Sounds that way. [ and there's a smile back in hers. ] You, too. My name's Amy Pond.

How long've you been in the city, then?

A year. Almost exactly.

[ That's about the longest he's heard so far. ]

And... anyone you know here? From before. I'm kind of taking a poll.

From back home, you mean? Yeah, I've got two people. Technically three. But it's complicated.

Something like that. I'd agree that it's complicated, though, for sure.

Definitely for sure. But, you know, you've been one of the most uncomplicated newcomers to talk to, if that counts for anything.

[ mainly because he wasn't asking why or to explain. or maybe it was because he had a life just as complicated. it was somewhat refreshing. ]

I've-- [ He actually laughs, suddenly. ] Sorry, I... it's just, if you knew me, you'd never say that. I don't think anything about my life is uncomplicated.

[ Then, there's a chuckle. ] It's really--

[ Suddenly, he cuts off. Because the strange feeling that's been prickling in his mind for a minute now has suddenly sparked. He switches the device to video, hastily, and Amy can see the startled expression he's sporting. ]

Amy-- Amy Pond?

[ There's a heavy pause. ]

[ his laugh makes her chuckle back. ] Actually, I assumed your life was complicated. I mean, if you're willing to just skip all the explanations. I know because I'm tired of trying--

[ she stops when he says her name. and so seriously. she suddenly seems hesitant. ] Oh. Erm, yeah. That's right. ... Why?

[ There's another terse pause, and he studies her face. She seemed different, but... it had been a long time, so... ]

You don't... remember me, do you?

[ Then: ]

Not from here. From home.

[ Amy furrows her brows, slowly shaking her head. ]

Nope. Sorry. Are you sure we've met before?

Amy Pond. [ He repeats it, searching her face. It could be her. He remembers the hair, how she'd been, and... well, never mind the accent. ]

Uh... okay. Did you ever live in Nebraska?

[ Amy looks back at him a little wide-eyed, glancing to the side. He's got the name right, but nothing else is ringing a bell. She almost feels bad that she apparently doesn't remember him. Or something. ]

Nebraska? No, can't say that I have. Just Scotland and England.

[ Maybe he's mistaken, after all. Maybe there's another Amy Pond that looks just like the one he knew. After all, he reminds himself sternly, almost embarrassed that he didn't think of this at first... after all, this is another world. ]

Sorry. It's my mistake.

[ She frowning, actually feeling bad if she disappointed him. Or maybe he's just embarrassed. It's hard to tell. Either way he was apologizing now. ]

You don't have to be sorry. It happens all the time. Especially here. People might even have the same face, but be a completely different person.

[ she attempts to smile about it to lighten the mood. ]

[ He returns the smile, looking sheepish. ]

Yeah, seems like it. Definitely weird, how that's a common theme.
