Three things.

1: If anybody has experience dealing with the school system here, I'd love to talk to you. I'm trying to get started on enrolling a child for September, and any help or advice would be so appreciated. It's a real hassle.

2: Sam Winchester has left the island. I won't say he's gone, because he was gone a long time ago.

3: Does anybody have the power to turn a cat blue? Without dyes or hurting the cat, please.

[And indeed, the doorbell rings in about 20.

[hostage]

[He must have been waiting by the door, because he answers it right away.]

Hey, uh. Come on in.

[momchester]

[She gives him a thin, tired smile.]

Thanks.

[Following him in and kicking off her shoes immediately. There's an odd aura of heat around her right now. Someone's power isn't responding well to the glut of emotion.]

[hostage]

[He feels that and it makes him nervous. A fire would be pretty bad, considering the meth and thousands of dollars hidden under the floorboards. Once he's shut the door, he trails closely after her.]

You, uh... You want a drink or something?

[momchester]

[It's especially noticeable, given that her body temperature is always several degrees above normal anyway.]

Uh, yes- yes, I'd like that.

[She starts to fidget neurotically, then stops, takes a deep breath, and opens her eyes a little more calm.]

[hostage]

[He starts to head for the kitchen, then pauses and turns back to her. He isn't sure if this is a rude or scary or awful thing to offer, but -]

Do you... Do you want me to, like... help you out with that? I mean, if you're having trouble. 'cause you've got a lot going on, you know. I could take that. If it'll help you relax.

[momchester]

Take what?

[hostage]

You're like literally burning up.

[momchester]

Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't know.

Wait.

You mean take my power?

[hostage]

Yeah.

I mean, like, for a little bit. 'til you feel better. If you want.

[momchester]

What do you mean? I thought all you could do void them or- take them.

[hostage]

I figured it out. It's like... Like I totally take it away. And it's like I hold onto it. For a while. Or forever. And then I can give it back, you know.

[momchester]

Wow, that's incredible.

So... you're really sure you can give them back? Can you show me somehow?

[hostage]

I'm totally sure. I did it with Lisbeth and Mr. White. I'm real good at it, but, uh... Like, the only way to show you is to do it.

[momchester]

[She frowns at that, walking backwards until she hits the kitchen table and can lean against it.]

You mean give me a power.

[hostage]

Yeah. I could.

[momchester]

Like what?

[Congrats, this has effectively distracted her.]

[hostage]

Telekinesis?

[momchester]

Yes.

[Wait.]

I mean- what are my other options?

[hostage]

That's all I got. Lisbeth didn't want it, so we traded and I gave her back her old power. Then I gave it to Mr. White but I took it away again 'cause he, uh...

I just didn't want him to have it.

[momchester]

[A semi-understanding nod.]

I guess I don't blame you.

That sounds good, I guess.

[There's obvious hesitation. Not about the new power, but about exposing herself to his power like this.]

[hostage]

[He extends his hand to her. He knows this whole thing scares people, so he leaves the choice to Mary.]

It won't hurt. Just hold my hand.

[momchester]

[...

She looks at his hand, then back to his incredibly blue eyes.]

Promise you won't take it away yet?

[Trusting is a hard thing for her, after all this.]

[hostage]

I promise.

[momchester]

[She licks her lips uncertainly, then nods.]

Okay.

[Stepping forward to put her hand in his.]
