What is the purpose of a father or creator?

[ Bitterness. It's something he's lived with for many years, the sting of rejection and abandonment that never saw an end. He despises these creatures called humans -- his own children, flawed and broken as they are.

Those in the city are not of his making, of course (save for a select few), but still their presence rankles. ]

Is there a reason to nurture and raise that which despises instruction?
