[Well. If you ever wondered if they'll hold Pokemon in a jail cell if they happen to be fully sentient Newcomers... You now know that they do. And, unfortunately, certain Newcomer-disliking cops have no problems explaining the horror stories of animal shelters.

So if Meowth looks a little traumatized and wondering where his criminal life might lead him, well, that's why.

[Mary manages to post bail (because she has so much money, right?), but runs into insane roadblocks for a good two hours- cops telling her they need to keep him, that her ID card isn't sufficient proof of citizenship, that his bail just went up. It's only by threatening to tell the press about them keeping a talking cat in jail (and spin it like the cops taking away an enchanted pet from a lonely young woman) that Mary gets them to drop the bullshit.

So eventually someone marches Meowth out front where she's waiting for him, looking tired.]
