Given the rather interesting little bit of art that appeared overnight, I was thinking of getting a group of experts together to go and see what's what.

So, if any of you lot are exp- well, probably not experts. More likely aficionados, given this melting pot of realities - of extraterrestrial sightings, history, or any sort of symbology, really, give me a bit of an example of your work.

No guns, while you're with me. I don't really do guns. There's always another way to go about things, Mary. Even if you can't see it right away.

Okay... Not that there's another way in my line of work, but fine, I can leave the gun at home.

[She won't. Mary never goes anywhere without it.]

Have you ever tried hunting a werewolf?

[His eyebrows arch up at the mention of werewolves]

Once, in Scotland. 1879. Wanted to get the royal family onto his side of things.

[Of course, said werewolf was actually an alien but--]

I've done it a few times. Let me tell you- in a situation like that, there's only one way.

[He's quiet for a long while, lost in thought, before he starts talking again. Slowly and carefully]

Sometimes... people- beings - are beyond help. Twisted and unable to see reason. But violence and murder are never the first thing to fall back on.

Everyone deserves a chance. What they do with it... well, that's all on them. But if you don't at least offer that chance... you're acting just as badly as they are.

You don't know anything about it. How can you say something like that?

For your information, lycanthropy in my world is incurable. It's not like growing fur and being able to make a choice. It's not like vampirism- vampires can survive on cattle, they can make a choice.

[Talking with her hands, table for one. She's trying very hard not to look as offended as she is.]

Werewolves become monsters without their real minds.

Rugarus- [An utterly humorless chuckle] have you ever met a rugaru? They start out as people, then slowly turn until they need to eat human flesh. It's not even really their fault, but it happens and once they give in they're turned forever.

Every werewolf deserved a chance once. Hunters arent' the ones taking it away, life did that. All we do is give all their future victims a chance at life.

[Taking a breath.]

Look, Doctor, I understand your pacifism- I do. [Sincerely.] I never liked killing. It makes me sick. But not everyone has the luxury of getting back in their spaceship and sailing away.

I know you come from one world, but please... don't treat me like a child because mine happens to be harsher.
