[Here's Kurt, looking much healthier than before, though still a bit scrawny and pale from the illness. His attitude is bright and cheery, though, and he offers a big smile.]

Hello everyone! I hope you're all feeling better. This is my obligatory 'checking-in' entry-- Please let me know how you're all doing, if you can spare a moment. Things really have been insane lately, and not even in the interesting reality t.v. way. [Clears his throat.]

Which brings me to my second point. As Mr. Creed previously announced, the NPP Block Party is taking place this coming weekend. So many people are stepping in to help, and I want to thank each and every one of you. It's not to late to sign up, though, if anyone else wishes to promote their business or offer a hand.

[He clasps his hands together and looks hopeful.] I sort of see this festival as an opportunity for the Newcomer community to come together and kind of...prove our worth here in the Port, if that makes sense. Maybe it'll help resolve some of the tension between us and the other citizens, if we can mingle and celebrate together--and even if it doesn't, it'll still be fun.

[Oh, hello Kurt. The dark circles under Franz's eyes haven't faded much, and he has a similarly sickly, pale look - but offers a smile.]

Since when do you care about proving our worth to others? Whatever would Lady Gaga say?

[A pause in the teasing, though, and:]

It's so cute when you throw yourself into things like this. I'm excited too. [Even if it's a far more subdued excitement.]

I'm not saying we should change for them. I just think that if we can show them that we're people and not--whatever they think we are, then it might help ease some of the tension between us. Call it taking the high road.

[He blushes.] I'm just keeping myself busy.

--Having doctors who aid our community, even helped develop a cure hasn't made them think of us as people. Nor have all the newcomers who became part of law enforcement. I'm not sure there's any one thing we can ever do to change their minds.

But it might get the kids of the city a little more interested in us, so eventually they'll grow up not thinking we're so bad.

...Or, another act of terrorism against us. It could really go either way. [You know, well or disastrous.]

How are you getting along these days, aside from work? How's Blaine?

I-I'm fine, though, just fine. Blaine and I are almost fully recovered--that flu really knocked us on our butts. [A small laugh.] Et-toi?

[Franz's game plan is to smile while not talking about the devastating effects of his soul-crushing guilt. He smiles, so it's probably effective?] Raul's trying to force me to take time off even though I spent all this time sick. [Eyeroll.] I'm starting to feel like you might be threatening my position with him! If I take time off now I'll return to find you've moved into my office.

You know I'd never do that to you... But you'd better hurry up and get well, just in case.

I am well, just tired out. [This is his attempt at a reassuring smile.] I don't know what he's on about, it's not like him to worry overmuch about me.

--I think you should put him in the dunk tank.

Really. [You better take that back if you're not serious, Franz, because now he's tempted.]

If I have to, then he has to! [laughing]

Oh, he definitely does. He just told me I have to. Can you imagine how my hair will look after that? [He looks irate.]

At least your hair doesn't go green in chlorinated water! This is going to be a real disaster.

And I have no idea what to wear.

Pick something from last season. Dress it up, though. If we have to do this, we'll at least make it fabulous. [SO DETERMINED.]

On the other hand, if I just wear swim trunks and a bow tie, I might earn a lot more money for the party. [He gives a brief, bright grin.] I'd have to look into sunscreen for my... [Waving over his face, but he's indicating his glow] complexion issues.

Is it water proof? I'm more worried about my glow. You don't think it'd counteract the sunscreen? Or what if it makes me even more susceptible to UVs... I guess I don't go shirtless very often... [Fussing on the details, if he notices Kurt's reaction, he doesn't acknowledge it.]
