1st Tattoo; video
[The NV is filming his legs, initially. They're an attractive pair of legs for certain, wearing a pair of fine, high leather boots and what appears to be a skirt of leather armor. A man is talking, and the NV gives a shake as he makes a somewhat confused noise.]
--Are you working now, little runestone? What a strange bit of magic you are...!
[The NV tips to its side, filming what's clearly part of a shabby starter apartment, before turning to film the actual subject. Siren's Port, this is Zevran Arainai: a handsome blond elf with intriguing tattoos on the left side of his face.]
Ah. There!
[His accent is warm, speaking of far-away locales, sweltering heat, and the clash of sharp blades.]
While I have heard of the ancient elvhen mirrors that could show strange things, I never thought one would be handed to me as an arrival gift to my kidnapping, let alone that I would be expected to use it. I am still not entirely certain it will not turn me into some kind of blood thrall, send me to the Fade or the Void or turn my hair some ghastly color...! [He laughs as if all of those things would be a grand adventure.]
But this city is large, and I must know if my comrades were among the taken. They would have stuck out, much as I now do: A templar and a fierce warrior lady, both clanking about with plate armor and sword and shield, a gray-haired Circle mage with a fabulous bosom, a red-haired Orlesian woman wielding a bow and an unmatched sense of spiritual fervor, an enormous war hound, and a Qunari giant with all the sense of humor of... well, a Qunari giant. If anyone is indeed listening or watching on the other end of this runestone, I would be very much obliged for you not to use it to come find and kill me or otherwise menace me, [he sounds rather unworried: he is clearly used to such dangers] but to re-connect me with my friends.
Aside from that, if my coin is good here, I would very much like to share in a drink, a small meal, and the gossip of the day. Will someone do me the favor of giving me the name of the best tavern or inn for the displaced? If there is no such place, I suppose a brothel would serve just as well for my needs. I would be... [There's a suggestive glint in his eye.] Most grateful, for the favor.

You can call me Didi. I've had a lot of nicknames, but that seems to be the one that sticks.

Tell me you do not feel it as well - that we have met. I can see it in how you smile at me. Are you going to keep me in suspense? [Zevran raises his glass to his lips again, not really expecting more than a coquettish reply.]
no subject
Oh, we've met before. I always liked a little mystery, don't you? [Smiles.] But...Didi is just a nickname I go by, sometimes. My full name is Death.
no subject
[Not true. Zevran has always respected death, known how close it was every moment of his tawdry little life.]
Is this the part where you say it's over for me, and I'm to be sent to the Void or the Maker's side? [In spite of any arguments he's made for being an assassin and how it's justified by the laws of the Chant of Light, he knows damned well he's not likely to be brought to the Maker. At this point, he doubts very much he deserves it.] All this time, and here I sought you out...!

[Her smile only grew, as she raised a slender eyebrow.] It's not your time, not that I know of. Unless you're trying to tell me something?

I plan to live to a ripe old age - even the fortune teller once said it would be so.
no subject
Maybe the metaphor is man is not alive unless the possibility of death is also there.
no subject
Such a metaphor is surely what the Crows of Antiva would say. Live life to the fullest, for tomorrow one of your brothers might slit you in the throat. Ah, assassins!
no subject
They sound like a fun bunch to be around. Life probably is never boring!
no subject
You have not heard of them? And here I would think you would notice we make a living from bringing Death about, and proudly do so.
no subject
Oh... well, I can't stay very long in places, usually. The port is a little bit different. Usually I'm quick, in and out.
no subject
So. It is not that the setting does not utterly become you - because it does, you seem quite happy here! - but why a bar?
no subject
We~ell... this is my second time staying put, here. When I first came here, I ran a coffeeshop. But my friend is doing his best at running it, and I wouldn't want to take that away from him. So, the lady who owned this bar said she could use some help, and I decided to help! Plus, we can run all of the bounty hunting business out of here.

[Zevran leans forward interestedly.]
Do you have any good marks to sink my teeth into? I promise I can bring them back alive if I must.
