You'd think you'd get used to being jerked around universes, but it just never sets in right.

[ why, what a cool and laid-back sounding newcomer this is! well, she doesn't sound all that new, but the NV signal is definitely a different one than last time. ]

No. They called it the City. Kinda a NYC-look-alike.

What were the similarities and differences that you noticed, please.

If all it takes for free food and stuff is reappearing, then I gotta do it more often.

You must indeed. There's a cafe at the corner of seventeenth and McClung; I'll meet you there.

[ and she is! in costume, as always, but this time the colors are a little darker, the costume slightly less ridiculous, and the mask hides more. but she still doesn't seem to care if she attracts weird looks or not. ]

[He's there a few minutes later - in his own costume. As always. It doesn't take long to recognize her, since his attention turns to her at once. He greets her with a fleeting, small smile.]

[ She slides into the seat across from him, small smile already in place. ]

Redbird. Made the switch about seven months back.

[A slight quirk of his head - but then he nods.]

It keeps with the avian theme, at least. It won't be so hard to remember.

Yeah. No one ever really ditches the bird theme.

[ There's a curious little tilt to her own head as she studies him, though the curiosity is mostly dulled by her whited-out eyes — he seems familiar, more than just the Edgeworth she used to know, back at the Port... but then there's been a lot of that weird deja vu floating around. ]

We had powers there, too.

[ who needs segues. ]

[There's the slightest frown.]

Did they resemble your powers here?

[ She nods, and she's already sitting up a little straighter. Business talk. That, she can always do. ]

Same set, far as I can tell. Only, we were told to be heroes when the machine pulled us in over there. And a lotta people ended up there from worlds that already had the costumed deal.

Did they come from words that had both "the costumed deal" and powers?

Yeah. Flying wasn't new to loads of people.

[ Man, she wishes she had a drink to idly mess with. Instead she goes for the napkin already at the table, folding and twisting. ]

The Core messed with my memories of everyone, though. Sasuke said it did that once, I think.
