[Amy is at her piano today, not playing, but she seems to be looking longingly at the keys. Since it's daytime, her manner is sluggish-- as if she stayed up all night, when in truth she didn't.]

People come and go often in this place. I've seen so much of it that it doesn't faze me that much. It seems that there are many new voices on the network, however. It would be a pleasure to make new acquaintances when possible.

I would not mind hearing from those I have met before as well. I apologize for my silence. Things have been rough at the library where I work in.

I'm about a hundred and twenty years old. Twenty-six, soon. So late 1800s Japan. I don't know my birthday—or my death day, rather—but I've always celebrated it on June third.

Yes. Although it's a bit different, I suppose—where I'm from, everyone lives that long, and not much has changed in all that time. You've probably had to deal with a lot of changes, coming here.

[She realizes that's not a terribly complete explanation.] The place I'm from—it's called Soul Society. When people die, that's where they go. We keep aging until we die again, then we're reborn back into the Living World. But we live much longer than human lives—sometimes into the thousands of years.

Yes, that's it exactly. My body—though it's visible here—is made up of spiritual particles, not physical matter like a human's would be.
