[ Peter rarely makes posts to the network with such express purpose, but when he shows up on the feed this time, he looks prepared. Like he's got a message. And he only glances off camera once, before he starts. ]
You know, been here almost a year and a half now. Place definitely takes a toll on a person after awhile. Especially when things at home don't exactly make it any easier to deal with the kind of things that go on here. If you let it, everything just kind of.. falls apart. [ He shrugs, grasping a little for the right words. Public speaking isn't his strong suit. ]
Doesn't mean it has to, though. I know more than a few people here have made allegiances with people they never would've thought to. Whatever gets you through, right? Makes it easier, helps keep you going? Didn't actually think i'd end up happy in this place, not after everything that's happened.
[ This time, when he looks off camera again, he lets his NV turn ... to an expectant Sylar, his dark gaze fixed on the device. He smiles, wryly, as though to say 'surprise'. ]
Makes a lot of sense, when you think about it. The people who remind you of home, who understand what it's like to be you better than anyone else does; you can't really pick and choose who those people are. Adversity makes strange bedfellows.
[ He quirks an offscreen glance toward Peter. ]
Everyone deserves a little happiness in their lives, don't you think? Someone to love. Something you'd kill to protect. [ He reaches out suddenly, viper-quick, pulling Peter back into view of the NV by dragging him into his lap, and surprising a smile out of him in the process. Sylar presses his nose into Peter's neck, buries his nose briefly into hair that has grown back mysteriously quickly, and then looks back at the screen mockingly. ]
Like this smile. Isn't it adorable? A man could kill for a smile like this.
[ But before Sylar can embarrass them both any further, Peter's fumbling for his NV and trying not to smile so much as he turns off the feed. ]
[ ooc; blue is Peter; red is Sylar. threadjacking is encouraged! ]

[ He'd be content to stay there all day, but quietly he untangles himself. ]
I can hear that thing beeping from here.
action;
I'll deal with it.

He says nothing, just gently pulls the other man's head down into his lap, carding his fingers through his hair. ]
action;
But with a heavy-handed sigh, Peter lets Sylar tip him over, eyes going a bit bleary from staring at his NV for too long, just trying to enjoy the caress of the other man's fingers. ]
action;
You did good today. With everyone.
Sherlock--he loaths you. Makes no secret of it. I almost think he hates you more than he hates me.
action;
Could've told you that much already. I'm worse than you are because I can't stop you, and now i've let you go free. Makes me guilty for everything you've done.
[ He gives a meager little shrug, tipping his cheek back against Sylar's thigh. ]
action;
I think he suspects more than that, no matter what I said to him to the contrary. But he'd be an idiot to try anything.
[ No matter how clever he thinks he is. ]
action;
You really don't think he will? [ Because Peter's not so sure. ]
action;
[ He's emotionally exhausted too, and for the time being that's just fine. He smoothes his fingers down Peter's neck, then reaches back up to pet his hair again. ]
He can see what we can do; we've made no secret of it. For an intelligent man to then believe it's worth the risk?
action;
And what if he figures out a way to make it worth the risk.
action;
Then we give him something to really be afraid of.
action;
You make it sound easy.
action;
It is that easy. You know how easy it is. Sherlock moves through shadow like us. Well, not exactly like us. He wouldn't come alone, but that only makes it worse. You put someone else at risk, and in a fight you're seperated; you have to think about how to protect them, just as much as you're trying to keep yourself alive.
If you can't trust them to look after themselves, then all they are is a weak link in your own defense. And then you just seperate them, pick them off one at a time. Easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
action;
It'll be easier if you stop telling people what my abilities are. [ He tips his head slightly, nudging against Sylar's stomach. ] Giving away my element of surprise.
action;
There was no way to close the distance, so at last he just settled back again. ]
Telling people our abilities lets them have a healthy fear of what they're getting into. Besides which, we both have powers they don't know about.
action;
And I have powers that even you don't know about. [ Peter can be a tease even when he's not in the bedroom. ]
action;
You shouldn't make promises if you aren't prepared to keep them.
[ He'd had a rough day, enough that now he was prepared to kill, but there was nothing to sink his claws into. And now Peter was teasing him with powers. Unknown powers - tantalising powers - right there where he could reach out and touch them... ]
action;
I've kept all my promises, Sylar. Everyone else thinks i'm gonna change my mind, don't tell me you do too. [ Reaching his hands up to either side of Sylar's face, Peter sighed heavily, looking concerned, though not for his own safety. ]
action;
But it wouldn't work, not in his mind. Peter had to take them, and he wasn't sure the other man wanted to. He just couldn't guess as to why not. Not, when he'd been through the same trials. No--no, he could make a guess. Everyone else thinks I'm going to change my mind. He opened his eyes, flicking them up as he leant back. ]
You want to talk about it?
action;
Not really. [ Curling his fingers in Sylars shirt, he gave the other man a gentle tug, trying to bring him closer again. ]
action;
He opened his eyes again, staring at Peter's profile slightly above him, his own head on the couch to his left, spoke with a soft wonder: ]
What do you know? You can stop me from killing.
action;
Turning his face when Sylar spoke, Peter tried to wiggle a little closer. ]
Guess I can tell everyone that I can control you, now. [ Pushing his nose against Sylar's, almost in apology, Peter sighs. ] Next time we go on camera, you can ever wear the collar. Maximum impact.
action;
That would make it your fault when I get off the leash, wouldn't it? But maybe it'd make them feel better for just a little while.
[ He wrapped his arms the rest of the way around Peter, raising his chin so that he could kiss the centre of his forehead. ]
It wasn't about killing to start with; it was about being with you. Nothing else matters.
[ Apology accepted. ]
