Spike's gone. [ Peter's voice sounds rough, like he's been crying and is trying to keep from doing so right now. But this is Spike we're talking about, and Peter isn't coping well. After another couple seconds, he continues. ]

Came home last night, and now he's just... gone. Don't think he's coming back.

[ Peter needs a minute or two after that, pressing a hand over his NV and letting the feed go hopefully silent while he gets himself back together. After what seems like almost too long, he starts again.]

I've been here for over a year now, been through two birthdays, and this place, it never makes any more sense. It never means anything, nothing ever matters. We're the only one's that're real here, and i'm just-- [ a beat ]

I'm just tired of losing people.
