Charm 1 | Video - Just before evening sirens

[There's a short, blonde girl in the middle of the baseball diamond. She's dressed in a pretty pink dress. So she's.... a bit chilly. Not her focus at the moment though. She's yelling into her Pirate's Charm, now functioning as her NV.]

Link, you jerk! Where are you?! And where the heck is that King Daphnes blah-dee-blah guy at??

You jerks! You don't take me to some stupid castle and then abandon me someplace, just wait until I get my hands on you!

[Just... Raging eleven year old pirate princess. What do? She picks up a pair of swords and a bow from the ground and scowsl.]

At least I can fight now. Hmph, who needs the stupid Master Sword or a hero anyway?

[Hattie is quiet for a moment. There are a lot of questions that could be asked here, but maybe it's best to try to stay on track.]

P- Pirates.. So.. I.. [Ok so much for staying on track.] I wasn't aware that Pirates pranced about in cute pink dresses.

[Making a face and plucking at the dress, miserably.]

I never somethin' like this if I had'a choice. Some stupid magic that apparently makes me wear what my ancestors wore before the kingdom was flooded.

[Her brows raised. Now -that's- interesting! The dress did give off a 'royal' feel. Was Hattie dealing with royalty?]

What? There's nothing stupid about it! You've been blessed! You-

[Hattie takes a moment to let all the facts she knows thus far add together.]

[Wait, -what-? The equation divided by zero.]

It kinda is, I don't see what was wrong with my regular clothes. No one ever suspects a searat of bein' anyone important.

[Tetra tilts her head slightly.]

Somethin' wrong?

I.. Um.

[Hattie rubs her temples. How does a little girl not want to be a princess! What is going on with this world?? As a Princess-to-Be, Hattie can't allow this to happen. She just can't.]

I'm sorry this is just a rather.. Foreign situation to me. Being a Princess is wonderful! You get to rule over a kingdom and have lots of servants, and wear all sorts of dresses and sleep in the most expensive bedsheets! Don't you think that's a lot better than being stuck out in the sea breaking the rules and getting *gag* filthy?

I like the Great Sea, it's where my mom raised me and it's th'best way to earn Rupees. 'Sides, my "kingdom" was flooded centuries ago by the goddesses. There's nothin' left to rule anyway.

[Aww, well. That is cute, but still, hardly proper! Hattie actually finds herself at a bit of a loss for what to say. She assumed Rupees are currency.]

I.. See. I apologize, I've done all this talking without even introducing myself, my name is Hattie of Ehvenn.

[She feels sympathetic, and seems to realize just how strong, at least emotionally, this girl is. Hattie still thinks she could gain something from her, despite how backward Tetra's situation is.]

It sounds like you've been through quite a bit. Though it seems you already know that the best way to survive are with comrades. You may have heard about Newcomer Housing, but if you're be interested, you could stay at my place for food and rest until we can get you settled.

There's much to take in here at The Port.

[Pfffft! Tetra couldn't care less about being proper.]

Nice t'meet ya, Hattie. I'm Tetra but I suppose I'd be Princess Zelda if Hyrule was still around. I like Tetra better though.

[Strongest ever. Sometimes it was just impossible to keep a person from dying at sea, she learned that early on in life.

[Hattie's brows raise. Her eyes lit up. Princess Zelda! What a wonderful name! But.. She had to calm herself, now wasn't the time to be doing any sort of fangirling; this was a fairly delicate situation!]

Yes, well, I've been in your situation before, and have an idea how difficult things can be when dropped into this mess by oneself. I was lucky to have my handmaid around at the time.

[She then chuckles.]

Of course, you'd have to do a little work to pay your keep should you accept the housing portion.

[And the kind of work Hattie has in mind, involves a lot of pretty clothes and etiquette classes. Oh the etiquette classes. Heh heh heh.]

Work ain't a problem, I'm sure I've done tougher stuff before. I mean, a giant bird dropped me in a forest so nothin' can beat that.

[Oh Goddesses, anything but that. Tetra would be a force to be reckoned with.]

[Hattie raised a brow. Tougher work? At her age?]

Oh really? [She laughed] What kind of work for example?

[And what was with that final comment? Who -was- this girl and was she pulling Hattie's leg?]

I.. Oh really. Do you mean, perhaps, a dragon?

Rope work, fixin' the sails, teachin' the swabbies how to use a sword and fightin' and pillagin'. The usual pirate stuff.

[Pff- Tetra doesn't have to make this shit up.]

Nope. The only dragon really left is Valoo and he sticks around Dragon Roost Island. This was a huge bird with a mask on, think it was called the Helmaroc King.

[Oh Tetra.. Little girls do not fight and pillage! Come to think of it, wasn't there a young viking running around earlier? Hattie's face loses a bit of color. ]

Um.

[Hattie is so lost. She may come from a fairy tale world, but even she didn't experience anything this girl has! It was hard to fathom.]

.. Right. So, Zelda, what do you like to eat?

[They totally do! Especially when they were raised to be pirates.]

Tetra. I prefer t'be called Tetra.

[Her crew would be getting a whole round of verbal abuse if they called her that. Nevermind that they don't KNOW yet, who she really is. Or is supposed to be.]

Fish and fruits and stuff. Sometimes we roast a pig when we go ashore but it's hard to find pigs sometimes. So we make due with what we can can steal. Sometimes we buy stuff, especially if we get a really good haul.

[Fish and fruits. Hattie can handle those far easier than pigs. She makes a mental note, then frowns at the mention of stealing. And she can't get over this 'pillaging' thing. She's afraid to have Tetra explain further.]

Oh, of course! I apologize. [She's not sorry.] So you're at the Diamond, correct? If you'd like I can swing by to pick you up- Not by bird or ship, of course.. [A little chuckle afterward.] But I'm sure you'll find it interesting all the same.

Oh please, it wouldn't be any trouble at all. Besides, it's been quite a while since we've had company, you'd practically be doing us a favor livening things up.

[Hattie gives a fluttering laugh.]

Besides, you'd do the same for me if I were.. Er.. Stranded at sea, wouldn't you?

Oh yeah, definitely! We may be pirates but we ain't cruel. Dependin' on the situation, it might be free deal or cost ya though.

[Pirates, duh.]

[Hattie can't judge, it's the same case for her- So there's actually a bit of a proud smile given.. Now if only it weren't for that rough manner of speech!]

Of course. Very well, I'll see you in about twenty-five minutes.

[This should be very, very interesting.]

[How boring. And it's not like she can do much in a dress, anyway.]

[Poor Tetra. Hattie bit back any comments of just how crazy things can get around here for now and ends the feed.]

[Around thirty minutes pass before a cab is seen pulling up, and Hattie steps out from it, in modern attires and most notable her long, tan winter jacket, with a shopping bag in hand. Being here brought back memories; not entirely unpleasent ones, though it did look a lot uglier than she remembered. She strolls along looking about for the little pirate-princess.]

[Can't be any worse than being told your the last of the royal family of Hyrule, and being locked in the basement of a castle that was buried UNDER the Great Sea for a century or so just to keep you safe from an evil king apparently bent on ruling a kingdom that the goddesses sealed away.]

... Whoa.

[Yeeeep! That's about all she can when she spots Hattie getting out of the cab.]

[.. SHEESH!]

Oh! There you are.

[Hattie greets Tetra with a wave and a smile, and she tries not to look -too- smug about Tetra's awe. She flips back her hair.]

'Woah' to what, exactly?

[Just waving kind of... mutely.]

That ain't like nothin' on the Great Sea!
