[Hello, Port. Today a certain redhead is sitting propped against a wall in a small building full of birds. Being friends with someone who has enough money to buy an entire aviary is pretty great. There are definitely at least three sitting on her as she begins to speak over the various noises.]

You know, I realized nobody had ever really seen inside here except me! But I like it a whole lot. It's really calming, and it's fun to take care of them all. Back home, I used to feed the birds that lived near the school, too, so it reminds me of my world a little bit. [As she talks, a pigeon comes down and sits on her head. Blinking, she looks up with a smile.]

I guess there are new people starting to come in now, too. I wonder if— [But then she pauses before looking quite panicked. She ducks down, and though the NV is pointed in the other direction now, there is the distinct sound of a bird hitting the glass wall of the aviary, as well as the muffled beginnings of a quack.

Birds are such intelligent creatures, aren't they?]

Oh, the apartments? I'll be there as soon as I can! What room are you in?

I'm outside them. I'll just wait for you here.

[Around half an hour later (because she had to run home and get food!) she rushes to the front of the building, holding a bag with several apples, some bread, and some cheese.]

Hi!

_{[And Astrid had been sitting on the steps of the apartment, axe beside her her cheeks in her hands. Hearing the hi she looked up, straightening as she watched the girl come toward her.]}

Um, hi. You're the bird girl, right?

[That is more accurate than she will ever know.]

Yeah, that's me! You must be really hungry, huh? [She reaches into the bag and takes out an apple, extending it towards the other girl.]

I'm starving...

_{[When the apple is held out to her she takes it, looking at it confused.]}

Uh...what is it?

It's an apple! You've never had one?

I don't think those grow in Berk.

Well, go ahead and try it! It's really good. I brought a few more if you like it, too.

Do I just...bite into it?

Yeah! Not the stem, though.

Alright. _{[And so, she bites into it, chewing for a moment before her eyes go wide.]}

It's so sweet!

Yeah! If you like fruit that's really sweet, you should try strawberries sometime, too. And pears!

I love fruit, but we can't have it very often.

It's really cold where I live. Most of the time it's winter. _{[And she takes another bite out of the apple. And then another...and another...]}

Well, there's a lot of it here! [She smiles.]

Do you want another when you're done? There are three more in the bag. Some bread and cheese, too.

And bread and cheese?!

Mhm! I didn't know how long it would take you to get some money, so I tried to bring as much as I could.

Well, I couldn't just let you starve! Make sure to share a little with Hiccup if he's hungry too, okay?
