There was an explosion, back home. There was fire and lots of noise; and I think I would have died. But I ended up over here, instead...

[She trembles, then, her entire body shaking. She's been holding this back so long - for what? What's the point anymore?] If I go home, I'll die. They want me dead. Because they want to hurt my sister. They want to make her suffer so that she won't resist.

...There has to be another way; if we can band together, maybe we can stop it. Fix the core. It must have given us powers for a reason. Don't you think? Maybe it was to save this place. To thank it, for saving us.

I don't think we can fix it. The people tried for, what, a century?

But what about everyone else? They might need.

They will need a great many things, but ultimately, it won't matter - this world will be consumed by the Darkness. There is no saving it. Mine still can be. There are billions of people who need others to heal them, take care of them. If that's what you want to do.

I can't just leave them, though... [Her hands scrunch up into tiny little fists. She bites her lip.] I'm supposed to be a hero.

You are child. But dying for those who are damned anyway isn't heroic. Being brave enough to know when you need to change tactics is.
