I mean, how do we get to it? Someone has to know. It's probably SERO, at least.

[She tensely lights up a cigarette and sneaks in a short puff, not stopping too long between breaths.]

I've heard things about it being sentient, or- or maybe even alive. I have to know. Doesn't everybody?

What makes you think we didn't?

If I was overly concerned with the guards I would have killed them from a distance away. Sniping isn't my normal method but it's a tool I don't mind using.

The problem lies is actually being able to converse with the Core. Odds are you'd need an exceptionally power telepath and an onmipath if not both as well as something with syncing powers. As well as some one like me, immune to radiation and with the ability to shield others, and someone with healing powers.

And that's without your own core of guards to make sure no one sealed you in.

And being willing to be openly hunted by both companies.

Michael, I know someone who can transfer powers between people. Anything is possible. Anything! Those powers exist somewhere on the island, all of them. We know people who can do most of that all on their own.

It's not about my being comfortable - it's about not trusting someone to know how to use powers I'm over a hundred years into and still learning about.

I believe there is a way to communicate with it - I always have. The problem is we are lacking people who have the kind of experience we need.

Xenolinguistics with subset specialties in telepathic contact and sentient artificial intelligence. Ambassadorship with hostile and/or uncooperative beings. And that's assuming we can find someone with experience syncing multiple powerful individuals.

I do - which is why I think you don't know what you would be starting. There's no way to do this that isn't openly declaring war on the natives here. That means taking on the local government, SERO, AGI, and the Newcomers who don't wish to be caught up in it. You don't know what you would be starting.
