Oh, but I've never had a twenty-fifth birthday before! It's hard to have one when you die a year before; it wasn't a very nice thing. I think I died of infection, I wouldn't recommend it. [spoilers, he never died.] I wouldn't recommend my century either, it was miserable.
Is there anything a person should have done or seen by the age of twenty-five? I'd like to catch up!
[private to Ciel Phantomhive and Alois Trancy:]
I've offered one of my friends a place to stay, in our home, she's willing to clean and help around the house...would that be all right?
Also, can we get more rabbits? Please?

N-not at all! You just look like you're some sort of scholar. Something.
video;
[1/2]
video;
What's the field you're practising?
video;
Psychology. Not as practical as tinkering with mechanisms and machines, though. I find that quite admirable. [ Her tone is a little warmer, there, although she doesn't fully understand why. ]
video;
Oh? Does my lady have a tinkerer friend? We're a special lot, you'd find. [he laughs, wryly.]
video;
At home, yes, a coworker. [ She stifles a smile at that kind of description, it's fairly accurate ] There's likely a huge difference between the types of mechanics you each work with. Although his assistant liked to make mechanical dolls, as I recall...
video
[he tilts his head to the side.] So you deal with mental illness? Hysteria? That sort of thing?
[ooc: i just wanna say i am so glad to be playing with an atsuko ;~; i never thought i'd see one around, and here i am playing with a brilliant one!]
video;
[ Not speaking of the fairly horrifying encounter that had her making this discovery; it's like she's talking about the weather. ]
That sort of thing, yes. My field covers neuroses and therapeutic treatment especially with the use of technology mediating between patient and doctor. I've been more of a researcher recently.
[ ooc; ;;;; whoa thank you! ♥ I worry since the film doesn't have that much of a fanbase haha ]
video;
[he smiles sheepishly, covering up the lie with teeth.] Explain like I'm five years old, please?
[ooc: keep on being awesome ♥]
video;
Neuroses include the 'hysteria' you're already aware of; anxiety; phobias and crippling fears... Too many to name for a five-year-old's vocabulary. The therapy helps a patient to cope with the neurosis in a way that allows them to resume leading a comfortable daily life, if not making a recovery.
Before I was taken here, I worked less frequently with patients in severe condition, and more with developing new methods of therapy. Hence the mechanics.
video;
[that troubles him, a little.]
So...it's not actually all in someone's head? Hysteria, all those things- they're real illnesses? In my time doctors just told people it wasn't.
video;
Oh dear. ]
It can be hard for even a qualified doctor to recognise mental illnesses, even with the advances in research we have in this era. [ She sighs. ]
Put simply, there are different names and definitions for them, but yes, troubles of the mind are very real illnesses. The brain is a part of the body that can get sick as much as the rest of the body can.
video;
Do you like your occupation, my lady?
video;
As much as anybody enjoys their pursuits, I suppose. You enjoy tinkering with clockwork?
video;
[aaand he winks! aww yiss he's the smoothest ever.]
It keeps my minds off things.
