[empathetics]

[The video feed flicks on, revealing a somewhat tense looking young man. He's blonde, with snowy pale skin and purplish shadows under his dark eyes. If you're a possessor of heightened eyesight, you may notice that his neck and jawline is heavily ravaged by crescent shaped scars, disappearing into the v of his shirt.

He's sitting in what appears to be some sort of holding cell.]

My name is Jasper Hale. [His voice is clipped, with the barest hint of a Southern accent to it.] And firstly... I'd like to apologize if I had harmed anyone at my arrival. I acted on instinct, and that clearly wasn't the correct choice.

[His tone is wry, perhaps even bitter. He's silent for a few moments.]

I hear vampires aren't quite a secret around here, and I just can't help but wonder how well that's working out for everyone.

((ooc: Okay. So at Jasper's initial arrival he was a bit of a sour grape and tried to attack some people. Long story short he got voided and is currently chilling in jail.))

[She'd seen him the very second he touched down in the baseball feild. It wasn't even a very remarkable vision, just the two of them walking down the street, arm-in-arm. It was more than she'd seen of him in nine months.

She broke about two chairs, her dining room table, and the front door rushing out at full speed to get to him. Unfortunately she was only halfway there before she saw the cops would get to him first.

Dammitdammitammitdammit why now!? He's here, finally, but the stupid police had to take him and she is not standing for this.

Now, at the police station, she's pulling out all the stops to get her husband out of jail. Yelling, pleading, waving her citizenship proof around, anything. Considering the city's attitude towards newcomers, though, she's not getting too far.

During a lull in the fight, while the police go to "sort through paperwork" for Jasper, Alice decides to go through the network to pass the time. She nearly screams when she sees he's posted.]

Sweetheart? I'm here. I'm trying to get you out.

[empathetics]

[He hadn't even bothered to take the time to figure out the network, too focused on the fact that his abilities had somehow been rendered useless, so when she appears everything seems to come to a halt.

Alice. His Alice.

Jasper had been so worried he'd never get to see her again, that he'd be trapped on his own once more.

If he had still had his strength with him, he probably would have broken his phone with how tightly he gripped it.]

Alice.

[manicpixiedreamgirl]

Hey Jazzy.

[She smiles, and a little hysterical giggle escapes her lips. He's here. He's really, really here. Not some look alike or trick, but really him.]

Hopefully you'll be out soon. It depends on if the clerk is going to go have coffee with one of the officers. She's waffling on it.

[Yes, lets talk visions and normal things, pretend like she hasn't seen the love of her live for nearly a year.]

[empathetics]

[He frowns at that, tearing his gaze briefly away from the screen. The corner of his lip turns down in a sneer of self-loathing.]

I highly doubt they're climbing over themselves to let me go.

Though I can't say I'm much of a threat at the moment.

[manicpixiedreamgirl]

I'm sorry. It must be strange, voided out.

[To still be a vampire but to have no power. It would drive her insane.]

But it's not going to last long, I promise. By 6 AM at the latest. I have a little pull with one of the arresting officers. I planned her wedding last month.

[empathetics]

[His frown deepens.]

Last month?

[But... that just doesn't add up!]

[Ooop, yeah, forgot about that little tidbit. She was going to wait and drop it after he got out, but...

She ducks her head down, not looking directly at the camera.]

I've been here nine months, Jazz.

[empathetics]

Nine months... but you were at home with me.

[He shakes his head.]

This doesn't add up.

[manicpixiedreamgirl]

I know.

[She takes a peek back at the camera and feed. God, she's missed that face.]

It's this place. It takes people from wherever, or whenever. Right before I got pulled here, I was with you. Then, I just.....wasn't.

When are you from? What was happening?

[empathetics]

[It takes him a moment to process this. To think of Alice left on her own.

When he speaks again, it's more like blandly stating the facts than anything else.]

Edward and Bella are on their honeymoon. The family is content.

[manicpixiedreamgirl]

You're from after me, then. It was weeks before the wedding, for me.

[Okay, so it's a serious moment and all, but she's curious an has to know:]

Was the wedding as beautiful as I pictured?

[He can't help but smile.]

Oh thank goodness! I was so worried, especially when the first florist cancelled on us.

[And for the first time since she got to the police department, Alice flashes a genuine, happy smile. At least things at home were going good.]

I do it for a living now, you know. Weddings. It's nice.

Why am I not surprised? Someone just has to think the word wedding and your emotions spike.

[This is nice. It's an easy, safe topic that keeps him distracted from the current situation.]

[Exactly. Nice, safe, and she doesn't have to dwell on all the awful things she needs to tell him.]

Shh, don't give away all my secrets. If my clients figure out I like it they won't want to pay as much.

[She giggles.]

Then I wouldn't be able to afford my nice apartment anymore.

[He arches an eyebrow.]

And is there room for one more?

That's true.

But-- if you had badly hurt anyone, there's the possibility it would have been in the news. Especially so if you had hurt more than one person, and I haven't heard anything about a vampire attacking people.

I don't know for sure, but I think if you did hurt anyone, they're most likely okay.

[manicpixiedreamgirl]

Might be.

[She takes a second to look around the room. Nope, no one's paying her any attention. (Un)fortunately. ]

Come to think of it, the place has been feeling a little empty lately. It's just so big, and there's only me...

[At that moment, a cop comes up to speak to her. She holds a finger up to the camera. Wait a second.

Alice puts her NV on mute while they speak, and after about 15 minutes, she turns it back on to speak to Jasper.]

Jazz, they're gonna come release you.
