She doesn't care; she's wearing some of her tattiest clothes because she was going trekking in the countryside, and she didn't want to ruin her nice dresses. She must look a right sight to Hattie. Nevertheless, Eponine stands up and goes to Hattie.
"Oh your coat, Madame. It is lovely.And your hat. That is what I want, I think. A matching set like that. Will we really go to a flower shop? I'll pay you back, Madame. You may take it from my wages."
