[Sorry, Jack, Hattie's back. She's covered in mud again, and she looks pissed.]

WHAT is going on??

Is there another trick happening at the port!? Whoever started this better fix it right now

All of my things are in that house and she won't let me in!

[She then proceeds to whine.]

I want a bath! And my dresses! And my make-up! And my mirror! And my shoes! I can't live like this, I'm a PRINCEEEEEEEESS!

[Warsman blinks, uncertain. Remind him never to get on her bad side.]

... has anyone ever told you that you're scary when you want to be? Maybe you should be the wrestler instead of me. [A pause.] Do you have somewhere else to stay if it doesn't pan out...?

[... the switch-up is a little dizzying, but Warsman tries to adjust to it quickly; he's probably gone and put his foot in his mouth, so to speak, so dragging it back out is his top priority.

He adds a swift-]
You've had a rough day. It's probably nothing. [- before moving on with a little laugh of his own, a quieter, deeper brother to Hattie's.] That's a relief. I was worrying that I'd have to invite you to stay with me; I'm not sure my apartment is entirely safe for humans.

[. . . .

Oh. Is that how that sounded?!]

Th-that's really not what I... I... [Though Hattie won't be able to tell, he can feel his mask getting hot from embarrassment. A little stiffly, in a kind of sincerely forced seriousness, he manages:] I don't have any untoward intentions for you, Miss Hattie.

[Ah. He... he knew that. Really.

Warsman, if he wasn't blushing enough, in all likelihood is just short of the smoke-pouring-out-of-his-helmet stage, but he still somehow squeezes out a response.]

... I-I see. [what else could he say to that oh god] Well, that's good, then. I'd hate for you to think that...

[... let's not even go there. He coughs quietly, focusing on the subject change.] Not a demon. I'm a robo-choujin- half-robot, half superhuman.

[Welp. There's a short pause. His first instinct, naturally, is to try to correct her- he doesn't particularly like being referred to as a "demon" for any number of reasons- but as he goes to do so he finds himself hitting a mental brick wall. Because, actually, part of him kind of gets the feeling that this is the kind of willful refusal to engage that he'd simply exhaust himself trying to break through. She's not trying to be rude, of course, he'd never think that, but- well, she must have her reasons, mustn't she?

Sounding a little hurt, he tries:]
I'd rather you didn't use the word "demon".

[And back to softening again, because he sincerely wasn't expecting an apology.]

I know, and it's alright. It's just... a sensitive subject. [He gives a little sigh.] Mm. The way I look frightens people sometimes; I guess I just try to make my first impressions a little better by avoiding the camera.

[It's true; in a universe where choujin don't exist to be discriminated against, much less robo-choujin, and in a place where strange and bewildering people are a part of every day life, he's been... well, perhaps not fitting in, but he's flown neatly under the radar, and that's miraculous enough as far as Warsman is concerned.

He even manages another little laugh.]

Actually... it may seem hard to believe, but I was fairly famous at home. Not royalty like you, of course- though I did fight alongside a king- but a lot of people knew my name.

That's... sweet of you to say. [He sounds wholly earnest, too, even if he can't quite stop the usual creeping embarrassment at being complimented.] In my world, though-- it's difficult. Choujin are admired in the ring, but outside of it... we're outsiders to most humans. I'm not quite a choujin, either, which only complicates things all the more.

[And then there's the fact that he wears a mask for a reason- but the less attention he draws to that, the better.

This is all getting a little too close- too self-pitying. He adds, swiftly:]
None of that really matters here, though.

[Charisma, hm? He knows a lot of choujin like that- Robin, Suguru, Terry, Ramenman... they all have a certain something that draws people to them naturally. Stage presence is a necessity for any wrestler, but the ability to maintain that presence outside of the ring is something altogether rarer.

He's still thinking about it when he hears Hattie say the words "help you with that" and is started back to reality.]

"Help me with"... [He blinks, then very quickly indeed he manages a response.] I-it's fine, really! You don't have to do that. I'm okay as I am. [That's not strictly true, but things are embarrassing enough already. Hopefully her own "problems" will take her longer to fix than she anticipa- no, what sort of thing is that to think?!

He coughs.]
No, I don't have a coach. I've had a little trouble finding anyone with the right expertise.

[HATTIE NO IT'S NEVER TOO LATE HE DOESN'T NEED WANT A LIFE COACH] Wrestling experience. I-I'm really not sure...

[The trouble is, he's never been that good at saying no to people he likes. The best he can do is try to put her off.]

You'd have to spend a lot of time in the gym while I worked out. It's not exactly pleasant. [then, in a flash of inspiration:] My old coach used to let me practise my techniques and holds on him.
