[Dean's stretched out in the bed of a truck, a beer in one hand. The smoky atmosphere's pretty easy to place. It's Mugshots. Since he's off work he has no problem addressing the network for the first time since landing all the gigs that were able to buy him a work in truck that he'll put more energy into as each pay check keeps coming around.]

Before you ask, I don't do holidays.

I don't care what happened with the candy corn or what you're dressing up as. I don't like any of 'em, except maybe Thanksgiving and I still haven't had one of those that wasn't at a jam packed Denny's with cheap slices of microwavable turkey and instant potatoes.

So keep the Fall enthusiasm to yourself. If it were up to me Summer'd last all year long.

Kinda? What do you mean?

Wasn't really raised on Rocky and Bullwinkle or The Flinstones. I had what you might call an alternative childhood.

Alternative like how?

I was raised on the road, for starters. I never stayed one place too long.

Really? What's that like? It seems like it would be lonely... I mean, always leaving.

It had its perks. Besides, I had my little brother to keep me company.

Perks like what? I mean, I never really left the small town I lived in before I came here, so I guess I'm just curious as to what it was like.

And your brother, too, what's he like? You must be really close.

Like never bein' bored except when we were stuck in the back seat. Always havin' somethin' new to look forward to. Sam didn't like it too much, but he wasn't as conditioned as I was. Most people'll tell you me and him are like night and day.

I guess it sounds nice, when you put it like that.

What kind of places did you go?

Coast to coast and back. Usually small towns no one ever heard of.

Wow! What was your favorite place?

I dunno. Never really put that much thought into it.

I guess it would all start to blur together once you'd been to so many places, huh?

Yeah, it kinda does.

It does sound nice, though. I mean, traveling around so much. I always thought it would be fun.

Really? Well, I guess what country you were born in doesn't really affect who you are that much.

Where would you have guessed?

I've never been outta the country. The closest I've gotten is the Mexican border. I try not to guess without gettin' the facts but if I did it would've been way off. I don't know you well enough to really have an idea of what I would've said if I had to guess where you were from.
