[ Video ] 2: Pool of (Gilbert's!) Tears

[ This bright Sunday morning finds Gilbert Nightray sitting behind the wheel of a black jaguar convertible. ]

I'm realizing that I've been a rut, lately. All I do is look after my young master, fret about things uselessly, and work.

[ It isn't his car. ]

So I thought I'd go for a drive, reacquaint myself with the city. Would anyone care to join me? You could point out some things that I've been taking for granted.

[ In fact, he's never driven a car before. ]

I'd be happy to exchange a lift in exchange for a bit of tour guiding, what do you say?

[That screech... Is slightly worrying, but she still hurries into the car when he pulls up, putting the seat belt in with a smile.]

Hi, Mr. Break! [Though it feels weird to be calling him that right now.]

[ Break cranes his neck, glancing through the gate at the house. There's no sign of Ciel - which is, in a way, unfortunate, as it would be extremely entertaining to watch him pitch a fit. But, more importantly, there's no sign of Claude. Something about that man bothers Break, though he can't quite put his finger on it... ]

[ He watches her put the seat belt on. He's not wearing his; he had no idea was it was for. ]

Oh - I suppose that's a good idea.

[ He puts his on as well. And then - VROOOOM! ]

[She smiles as he puts his seat belt in as well, but then, as soon as they're on the road, not losing either the grin nor the cheerfulness:]

I'm not getting out of the car until you answer the question I asked last time.

[And then a giggle. Maya has taught her the ways of manipulation via cuteness well.]

[ This is precisely what his own "daughter" used to do to him as well... ]

[ ...before she learned the more direct approach: beating him with a harisen! ]

[ Watch out! Hard turn into a roundabout. Break is still unclear on the concept of "right of way"! ]

Well, I guess, but after a while don't you think it would get—

Hmmm, they do that a lot around here. No idea why, I've tried it--

[ He honks his own horn. ]

--but it doesn't make the car go faster, so I don't see the point.

[ Whee! They're onto the ring road, that circumnavigates the island. There's less traffic here, so they can go much faster! Slower-moving vehicles get passed on the right or the left, as convenient. ]

No idea why Mister Gilbert hasn't learned, yet.

Then why don't you know what the different parts do? That seems important if you're driving it!

I-I really don't think that's how you're supposed to be passing people, either!
