[ This bright Sunday morning finds Gilbert Nightray sitting behind the wheel of a black jaguar convertible. ]

I'm realizing that I've been a rut, lately. All I do is look after my young master, fret about things uselessly, and work.

[ It isn't his car. ]

So I thought I'd go for a drive, reacquaint myself with the city. Would anyone care to join me? You could point out some things that I've been taking for granted.

I'd be happy to exchange a lift in exchange for a bit of tour guiding, what do you say?

[ It's all going to plan. If he can make Gilbert go to pieces over inconsequential things, perhaps he'll fail to dwell on what's actually serious. ]

[He's about to snap back, but there's something about the way that Break says that that shuts him up. See the city. He's able to actually see the streets, see exactly what the cars and buildings and pastries in this city all look like. When this finally wears off and they turn back, he won't have the chance again.

It might not be the same to Break, but to Gilbert, this darkness is lonely.
