[ Hello, world. Meet new arrival, Sam Winchester. But you might not know that it's him, because he's not showing his face yet, and: ]

This is Agent Murdock. [ He clears his throat, pausing a moment. ] If anyone's out there, and can hear me, or needs help... just let me know. I'm sort of at a loss, here, and I'd like some information. If this thing is even working, that is.

[ He's confident in his tech abilities, but something's definitely up with his phone. ]

... Thanks.

[Castiel has been down for the count for the past week or two, due to some sort of nonsense with Core, as far as he and Crowley had been able to figure. But it had begun to let up in the last day or so, and Castiel began to check the network again to try to catch up on what he had missed, and he sees this.

Sam. Sam is back, again, and from the looks of things he doesn't remember his time here. That in itself is a great relief, but Sam's return is a shock and he doesn't know if it's a good one or a bad one.

Does Sam even know him? If he does, what does he remember? What happened most recently for him?

Is he the Sam that Castiel knows, or is he a threat again?]

Sam.

[It's just one word, quiet, but Sam's reaction should tell him at least part of what he needs to know.]

[ Jesse himself likewise is skimming through the network, particularly looking at people who responds back at the posts. Some of the people here look cool, others scary and the some -

Oh.

It feels like a lightning bolt shot through his spine, leaving him tingly and a sense of discontentment. He can't believe this guy is friends with Sam and Dean, how can they be friends. Even if this man didn't try to kill Jesse, he can't fathom why anyone will try to kill anyone who hasn't done anything.

Other than simply existing.

Disgusted, Jesse has the urge to talk to him, to yell at him to try to kill him, but he ignored it.

It's better if they never cross paths at all. ]

[Castiel has no idea yet that Jesse is here, having not looked through the rest of Sam's post just yet, but he would feel much the same. It's best to keep them separated, which hopefully shouldn't be too much effort in the Port. Castiel doesn't want to harm Jesse anymore, but he's still afraid of him and he knows that Jesse likely isn't too fond of him.]

Cas. [ Someone he's actually glad to see. There's a smile, and though it's wearied, it's bigger than he's worn in a while. ] Hey.

[ He doesn't ask about how their memories differ, about what he missed when he was in the Port before... no, that all can wait. He's taken in too much information for one day. ]

It's really good to see you.

[That's a good reaction. He's glad to see Sam seems pleased to see him; that he knows who he is, that for him at least their last meeting clearly wasn't across a ring of holy fire.]

It is good to see you as well, Sam. Has someone come to meet you as of yet?

[ It definitely wasn't like that. Not as he remembers, anyway. ]

I found Dean. [ Other way around, really, but. ] ... And I saw my Mom.

[He nods, slightly, at that.]

Have you been informed of who all from our world is present here?

[So that he isn't terribly shocked when he runs into John, or someone like Lucifer. Though...]

What is the last you remember, at home?

I think so. [ He's spoken with both his parents, he knows about everyone else... even Lucifer, though he has yet to make an appearance. And, for that, Sam is very, very thankful. ]

Uh-- we'd just fought off War. The Horseman.

[ He pauses, waiting to see if that's clear enough an explanation. ]

... Dean and I kind of went our separate ways.

[Early, then; around the same point in time as Dean. That's a blessing, for the most part, even if it means things are more distant.]

I am from nearly three years after that point.

What? [ That's a big surprise, and his eyes widen slightly in response. ] You're-- seriously?

[ His heart pounds with a little more fervor. Then, he would know... a lot, really. But, did Sam want to hear about it? ]

Yes.

[He's not sure if the reaction is simply surprise at the length of time, or if no one had filled Sam in on the time differences in the first place, but surely he guessed at the latter from that his parents are here.

He's quiet a moment, deciding what to say, if anything at all, but eventually he gives a simple response.]

We won.

[ Just that, those two words, seem to be of immense relief. Even though he's Lucifer's vessel, and he's left Dean-- does it matter as much how they got there, if they were able to pull it off?

... Well, yes. A creeping curiosity tells him this. But, for now, that reassurance is enough. ]

Really? [ It's breath-like, the way he says it. ] ... Wow.

[He gives another small nod.]

There are enough issues here to be concerned with without that being one of them.

[He just won't tell Sam exactly what it costs him, or the rest of them, or what happens later. Only he, Chuck, Rachel, and Crowley really know it, and Rachel likely won't be an issue. He can deal with Chuck and Crowley easily enough.]

Have you found your apartment?

[ He'll still be concerned about it, but Sam doesn't push the subject, for now. ]

Haven't really gotten there, yet. After I met up with Mom, I just... needed some time to think.

[He's quiet briefly; needing time to think is understandable, definitely. But there is something Sam should be aware of, and he's not certain if he's been filled in.]

You have been warned about the dangers of the Darkness?

Generally, yeah. But, if you've got advice, I'll take it.

[ He has too much on his mind right now to sort through it all. ]

Know that even if they don't sound threatening, considering your experience in our world, there are things you may not be expecting. Caution should be shown regardless of your skill.

[Castiel ended up hallucinating for three days because he hadn't been being careful and had relied on his angel immunity to protect him, so he learned this the hard way.]

Right. [ He says it quickly; though he'd been slightly more comforted by their past experiences with hunts, Sam was definitely going to be cautious. There was too much about this whole situation that was different, that they'd never seen before. ]

How're you handling things, Cas? ... And the others?

[At the question, Castiel glances away, not sure how to answer. There's really only one answer to give, even though it's not the one Sam will want to hear, though he doesn't particularly want to comment on his part in it.

So he gives a lie, and a truth.]

I'm fine. The others are... It has been trying.

[What happened to Mary, all the tension between her and John, the past times Dean has been here; it's all a mess for the Winchesters, and it's not much better on the side of demons and angels.]

[ He swallows, nodding. There's more to the story, he knows, but... well, he'll let Cas off the hook. ]

Got it. [ Sort of. ] I'm glad you're doing alright, at least.

[He nods slightly--he's not doing alright but he's doing better, and he doesn't have any desire for Sam to know any of what happened so he says nothing more on the subject--before responding.]

Your presence will greatly help your family.

[So don't worry too much. He knows it's a core facet of Sam's personality, but still.]

I hope so. [ And yes, he will worry too much, unfortunately. Even more so, when someone drops the bomb of everything that's happened. Still, for now, he's just glad to see his friends and family in one piece. ]

How long've you been here?

A year. I've left and returned once in that time.
