[ Hello, world. Meet new arrival, Sam Winchester. But you might not know that it's him, because he's not showing his face yet, and: ]

This is Agent Murdock. [ He clears his throat, pausing a moment. ] If anyone's out there, and can hear me, or needs help... just let me know. I'm sort of at a loss, here, and I'd like some information. If this thing is even working, that is.

[ He's confident in his tech abilities, but something's definitely up with his phone. ]

Alright. [ That reminds him of some of the 'special children,' from back in the day... one of them had been given the power of electricity, he remembered. But, this was a city, or world of people able to control the elements. That was interesting. ]

That definitely sounds useful.

It is pretty useful. Metalbending wasn't even considered possible until about seventy years ago. Some earthbenders can even use their bending to 'see' with their feet.

Each element has unique applications, but most people can only bend one of them, if they can bend at all. Then there are some people--like metalbenders--who can use more advanced techniques. Firebenders can also make lightning. That kind of thing.

Huh. [ This is all actually really interesting, and if he wasn't having a terrible day, he might suggest they meet up so he can hear more about it. ] So, earthbenders, firebenders... let me guess, there're people who can use water, and... wind? Air?

[ Four basic elements... it'd make sense. Then again, she was talking about metal and electricity, so, who knows. ]

That's right! Water, earth, fire, and air. There's also energybending, but only the Avatar can do that.

[She goes quiet for a few seconds. He wouldn't know who that was.] The Avatar is the master of all the elements. It's the same soul reincarnated in a cycle throughout the nations.

Reincarnation. [ This world is getting more and more interesting by the second. ] This all sounds really interesting. Are any of the other benders here, in the Port?

Yeah, the Avatar has been reincarnated dozens of times. Is that not something that happens in your world?

There's one that I know of who's here now. He's a great firebender.

Not that I know of. [ ... ] ... But, we have a lot of weird things where I'm from, so I might've just never heard of it before.

[ He nods, though, again, it's invisible to Korra. ] And, what about you? I guess you're a bender?

I... well, I used to be. It's kind of a long story.

Sorry. [ He says quickly, brow furrowed. ] Didn't mean to... you know.

It's okay. [Obviously it isn't.] Gotta learn to live with it now, at least.

But enough about me. Tell me more about where you come from.

Uh-- [ Yeah, okay, gotta find some stories that aren't horrible and/or depressing. ]

Well... we've got a lot of the supernatural, in our world. But, most people don't know much about it. To the majority, things like ghosts and magic don't exist.

Supernatural, like the spirit world? Back home, everyone knows that spirits exist, but the Avatar is the one who has traditionally acted as the 'great bridge' between the worlds of spirits and humans.

It's more than that. Ghosts, monsters, demons, angels... the works. [ And he sighs. ]

They're everywhere, really. People just don't know it. Or, they don't want to admit it.
