[ A strangled gasp comes over the network, an open channel punched haphazardly into the NV as Oz slowly returns to himself after staving off the darkness monsters. It wasn't like him to forget things. He had known to avoid the shadows, to go the long way around rather then take the short-cut through the alley, but he had been distracted. ]
Gil? It's... I've...
[ He takes another shaky breath, trying to get his bearings. It's hard concentrating when every touch is muted with the feeling of, well... softness underneath his fingertips, all along his skin. ]
They're gone now. You should know that already, but... I'm fine. Don't come find me. [ It sounded as though he was trying to convince himself, but there's true fear there coming across the line as Oz talked. If Gil came running out of nowhere, who knows how many people might suffer? Raven wasn't exactly a small bird after all. It could easily flatten a building or two if Gil lost control. If only Oz hadn't been forced to use his chain; he might have kept Gil from finding out at all! Now if only he could just, well... move ]
