Many small businesses, closed as their owners recover from illness or try to keep themselves and their employees safely quarantined, have reported break-ins and theft, particularly in small retail or convenience shops. While Chief Miller has refused to comment on police absenteeism due to sick days, an inside source has provided the Independent News Network with data that over 40% of the cops have been playing hookie. AGI has extended security protection, as the SPPD is struggling to keep up on active patrols with thinning active ranks.

Today friends and loved ones join together in mourning over those who died in a massacre at St. Teresa's last night. According to the hospital reports, a guard let the Joker out of his cell to escort him to group therapy.
Dr. Bonhomme insists that all the security working at St. Teresa's know that the criminals in the high security wards are not permitted to attend group. "I don't know if he was confused or just forgot. With the recent outbreak here at the sanitarium things have been very hectic."
The Joker pulled off the guard's belt and managed to kill him with it. The dangerous Newcomer then proceeded to kill five more guards then freed the other inmates in the high security ward before escaping the sanitarium with a young man, identified as Newcomer Larry Butz. Larry Butz had been coming to the sanitarium to help with the sick patients and authorities do not believe he assisted the Joker willingly. Police have been accused of not arriving in time to capture the Joker.
"Rest assured we will stop this madman," says Officer Duval. "My men were very close to making it there, but their vehicles turned into giant scoops of ice cream." He states this last bit with stony-faced seriousness.
