[Wanda is taken aback by Jubilee's tirade, unprepared for such a response. The defensive excuses and rationalizations make little sense and only serve to confuse her. She stares at the other woman, her expression a mixture of exasperation and anger.]
Erik had a mental breakdown? Half of the island wants him dead because of it? And someone named Cortez is involved with this somehow? You realize I don't even know half of what you're talking about. [Wanda throws her hands up in frustration.] But, then again, it seems I hardly know anything! [A short burst of bitter laughter escapes her lips.]
You are so consumed with grief and guilt over a man who apparently got a boy killed while managing to keep himself alive that you can't see what you've done. [She shakes her head in disgust.]
Well, you've had the chance to explain why you covered for him—and understand I'm not judging whatever hard choices you were forced to make before I arrived—but let me tell you why I'm feeling less than sympathetic right now.
I've been here for almost two months, and you've acted like my friend the entire time, all while keeping this from me. And a lie of omission is still a lie. [Jubilee is on the receiving end of an accusatory stare.] But if he's truly sick, then I guess he wasn't in a position to reveal himself and this wasn't your secret to tell.
[Despite Wanda's best efforts, her voice grows louder and raises an octave] Yet you suddenly decide to say something at the worst time and in the worst way possible! You tell me Michael is dead, let me comfort you, and then drop the bomb that 'Michael' was actually my father. And just as I'm trying to come to terms with the news, you turn around and confide that he's not really dead after all!
Can you understand why I might be a little bit upset at this point?! [She sounds far more than a little bit upset.] No matter how I feel about Erik—and you don’t know—he is my father. And this is how I find out he's here? This is when you decide to trust me with the truth? [Assuming it is the truth and all of it.]
