Seven Dead in Explosion of Local Newcomer Business
Brooke’s Casual Dining Restaurant in sector 3, a well known establishment suffered heavy damage this morning, as a gas explosion took out more than half of the two story complex. The business was managed, owned and run by Nami, no last name, a long time Newcomer in the city with a mind for business management. The woman owned three businesses in the city, collected and maintained from other members of the "Strawhat Pirates", a group of supposed pirates claiming to have come from the same world. Brooke's belonged to another member of the crew before her, and she appears to be the last of the group in the city.

When SPFD arrived at the scene the building had lost structural integrity and half collapsed in on itself. They managed to put the fires out before it spread to other businesses around the restaurant. Brooke’s Musical Emporium, an offshoot of the restaurant itself, was left relatively untouched, but will remain closed for the time being.

The the charred remains of seven bodies were found within the building, many of which have, as of yet, gone unidentified, but are assumed to be the early morning shift. Most were supposed to be preparing for the bakery at the time of the explosion, and it seems as though all of them were killed in the initial blast. Found on what was left of the upper floor were the bodies of the Owner, Nami and what was believed to be Cloud Strife, her close friend and bodyguard. Both sets of remains were 'barely distinguishable' according to sources, but they were positively identified by friends.

”Strife was always hanging around. Delivery boy or bodyguard or something. Not sure but I’m pretty sure they were close. He’d been helping keep the site safe for some time now. Looks like he was distracted.” stated the head chief of Brooke’s LeDon Ramaldo, who was late for work that morning. “It’s a shame, really. She paid very well.” Ramaldo was offered a job at AGI’s five star restaurant Ever After, a new fairytale themed high class eatery, in the wake of the tragedy due to high recommendations.

“It’s so sad! She gave me my first job. I’m really going to miss this place. I hope she comes back soon. I’ll help them rebuild! But, I’m telling you, AGI has something to do with it! They’ve been poking around for months! They’ve been nothing but trouble to this establishment for a year now.” Jensen, a dishwasher for Brooke’s cried as he spoke with reporters, alluding to the theory that AGI might have had a hand in the attack. He was quickly subdued by the authorities before he could be properly spoken to, however, and the man was believed to be in shock.

Inspectors have been quick to point out that they believe there was no foul play, and that a faulty gas main is what caused the explosion, ruling negligence and improper upkeep as the reasons.

Another instance of injustice brought upon the newcomers through the big bad companies? Or simply a faulty gas main? If either of the Newcomers return with memories intact, we’ll be sure to find out.

- At the Hillsdale University of a Newcomer meet-and-greet, there was a commotion involving a strange tall woman and one of the power consolers. No one knows exactly what went down as it happen way too fast, but one witness noticed the tall woman wearing long, dramatic black robes using her staff and yelled out several proclamations, such as "The fifth day on the seventh month this year, a swarm of pestilence will feast out their hunger in everything but the flesh."

The woman later claims her powers is catching glimpses of the future, but a few witnesses reported it to be more of a threat than anything else.
