[ Peter rarely makes posts to the network with such express purpose, but when he shows up on the feed this time, he looks prepared. Like he's got a message. And he only glances off camera once, before he starts. ]
You know, been here almost a year and a half now. Place definitely takes a toll on a person after awhile. Especially when things at home don't exactly make it any easier to deal with the kind of things that go on here. If you let it, everything just kind of.. falls apart. [ He shrugs, grasping a little for the right words. Public speaking isn't his strong suit. ]
Doesn't mean it has to, though. I know more than a few people here have made allegiances with people they never would've thought to. Whatever gets you through, right? Makes it easier, helps keep you going? Didn't actually think i'd end up happy in this place, not after everything that's happened.
[ This time, when he looks off camera again, he lets his NV turn ... to an expectant Sylar, his dark gaze fixed on the device. He smiles, wryly, as though to say 'surprise'. ]
Makes a lot of sense, when you think about it. The people who remind you of home, who understand what it's like to be you better than anyone else does; you can't really pick and choose who those people are. Adversity makes strange bedfellows.
[ He quirks an offscreen glance toward Peter. ]
Everyone deserves a little happiness in their lives, don't you think? Someone to love. Something you'd kill to protect. [ He reaches out suddenly, viper-quick, pulling Peter back into view of the NV by dragging him into his lap, and surprising a smile out of him in the process. Sylar presses his nose into Peter's neck, buries his nose briefly into hair that has grown back mysteriously quickly, and then looks back at the screen mockingly. ]
Like this smile. Isn't it adorable? A man could kill for a smile like this.
[ But before Sylar can embarrass them both any further, Peter's fumbling for his NV and trying not to smile so much as he turns off the feed. ]
[ ooc; blue is Peter; red is Sylar. threadjacking is encouraged! ]

What are you trying to gain by doing this?

[ She is blinded by denial. ]

[ Shit, he knows you're not going to be convinced. This is next to useless isn't it. ]

Sylar, this isn't the first time you've impersonated somebody close to me. I'm not going to fall for it again.

Think for a moment. I've been trying to protect Peter for weeks now. Even though you've been gone, you remember that. Don't you? We talked about it only yesterday.
no subject
I highly doubt that out of everybody in this city, Peter would choose you.
no subject
None the less, that's exactly what happened. Peter chose me.
And I know things Peter doesn't; things you told me in the park that I never told him. That I don't want him to hear.
[ He glances off screen at Peter, and back to Claire. ]
Claire.

He wouldn't fall in love with a man like you. [ A man she could see, maybe, but Sylar? Uh, no. ]

Which at the moment seems like the only option.

You know, I can't figure out what's worse. The fact that you're happy to look your uncle in the eye and tell him that you don't believe him, that you don't want him to be happy, or the fact that you can't look your uncle in the eye and tell him apart from a cheap immitation. That's hurtful, Claire. It makes me wonder how close you two really are.
no subject
Close enough for me to know that he would never stoop so low.

If I had the power to shapeshift, don't you think I'd use it for something a little more productive than ruining his reputation? Like - oh, I don't know - making a new identity for myself so that I can kill more people?
no subject
[ she is never going to believe this. nope. ]

Then tell him. See how he reacts. If you're so sure he isn't the real Peter, then you shouldn't mind destroying him. Making his whole world crumble to dust.
If you think he's not the real Peter.
[ His gaze is unflinching. ]
And if you're wrong, you'll have to live with what you've done.
