[ Peter rarely makes posts to the network with such express purpose, but when he shows up on the feed this time, he looks prepared. Like he's got a message. And he only glances off camera once, before he starts. ]
You know, been here almost a year and a half now. Place definitely takes a toll on a person after awhile. Especially when things at home don't exactly make it any easier to deal with the kind of things that go on here. If you let it, everything just kind of.. falls apart. [ He shrugs, grasping a little for the right words. Public speaking isn't his strong suit. ]
Doesn't mean it has to, though. I know more than a few people here have made allegiances with people they never would've thought to. Whatever gets you through, right? Makes it easier, helps keep you going? Didn't actually think i'd end up happy in this place, not after everything that's happened.
[ This time, when he looks off camera again, he lets his NV turn ... to an expectant Sylar, his dark gaze fixed on the device. He smiles, wryly, as though to say 'surprise'. ]
Makes a lot of sense, when you think about it. The people who remind you of home, who understand what it's like to be you better than anyone else does; you can't really pick and choose who those people are. Adversity makes strange bedfellows.
[ He quirks an offscreen glance toward Peter. ]
Everyone deserves a little happiness in their lives, don't you think? Someone to love. Something you'd kill to protect. [ He reaches out suddenly, viper-quick, pulling Peter back into view of the NV by dragging him into his lap, and surprising a smile out of him in the process. Sylar presses his nose into Peter's neck, buries his nose briefly into hair that has grown back mysteriously quickly, and then looks back at the screen mockingly. ]
Like this smile. Isn't it adorable? A man could kill for a smile like this.
[ But before Sylar can embarrass them both any further, Peter's fumbling for his NV and trying not to smile so much as he turns off the feed. ]
[ ooc; blue is Peter; red is Sylar. threadjacking is encouraged! ]

Let me tell you something now. Peter is a very special man; his abilities are almost unique, his life is very unique, and the only person on this island that has even the vaguest inkling of understanding as to how hard it is is me. If either of us know what he needs, what he deserves, then I'm prepared to wager on it being me.
He needs to be understood.
video;
You tried to kill his niece, how can you understand what he needs?
video;
Because we're the same.
video;
video;
So that's one thing we don't have in common. He also doesn't really like clocks. We don't have to share all our interests, now, do we?
video;
Him not killing people is more than him not sharing an interest with you! It means he's a good person and you aren't.
video;
It all comes down to whether or not you think he should be happy. A choice. But not yours to make.
video;
[So naive.]
video;
[ The look he gives is murderous. He's killed little girls before, just you try him. ]
Anyone who tries to forcibly change that will regret it.
video;
You can't stop everyone from helping him. He has a bunch of friends here. People like you don't win.
[But she isn't quite stupid enough to go anywhere near him.]
video;
And if you cared for him, you would let it be.

If it's true, then why did you do this? Why did you lie to everybody? Didn't you realize it would—
[She pauses, trying to stop her voice from cracking. It's obvious how upset she is, though.]
This has to be a lie. Peter, I know you wouldn't do something like this.

That's why you want so badly for it to bed a trick. It's selfish.

I know you're lying.
