9th Sortie
It’s not quite the end of the feed, though. No less than a second following the ungodly racket, a voice begins to yell from across the room. Despite the distance between the speaker and the recording device, his words come across loud and clear.
The speaker is young, English, and very, very angry.]
WHY?! Are we not charged with protecting this land-- even this wretched, filthy land-- from supernatural threats?! Is that not our duty to the Crown! Even if the cockroaches revive because of the Core, LET THEM DIE!! And IF they should reappear-- take them and condition them THEN as you will!!
I RE--
[Unfortunately, gravity elects that moment to shift the NV against the wall so that it snaps shut, cutting the transmission before the rest of the conversation can play out.
So sorry, network.]

He knew well of the absolute indignant hatred and rightful irritation the young boy was currently shaking down the walls of their humble manor with. Van Helsing had on more than one occasion shouted the same lamentations and curse-laden diatribes to call Down the fury of Heaven and Up the flames of Hell upon the disgusting sanguinary creatures of this land.
It was only then for a soft hand to be touched to his shoulder and John Seward's voice of reason to caress his heated head and and put him at ease.
Unfortunate for the boy, Van Helsing had no such soft demeanor and complacency for this matter. Taking a long drag of his heavy death stick, the embers burning bright, he breathed out a tremendous roar fit for a wrathful dragon.]
Walter C. Dornez, there shall be none of this insubordination in my Order!
Think you that I speak these things with joy? Nay!
Be seated now at once! Listen that I not treat you as the child that you are, this is no request!
[He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a rebel hath no joy.
So clear to his father-heart, young Walter was playing a bitter fool. There was an oppressive force within the massive sitting room, as if the God of the Old Testament had come down from his lofty throne to stand amongst them. Abraham van Helsing's omnipotent presence alone could hush the most turbulent of maelstroms.
Poor dear Victoria, what a war-zone you've peeked your head into.]

Of course in the wake of such a furious yell she doesn't really know what to do, torn between making a quick escape or standing quietly in observance until their argument is calmed enough that she can interject. She chooses the latter for the moment, hands clasped together behind her back in the doorway.]

Yet, however slowly, he complied. Pressing his lips into a thin line, Walter took one hesitant, begrudging step at a time towards the set of chairs nestled on either side of the fireplace-- pausing only to briefly acknowledge his colleague's presence at the doorway with a wordless glance before continuing on to take his seat in the chair opposite from where the professor stood.
The belligerent butler sat ramrod-straight, his back flush against the back of the chair as he pressed his arms against the rests, his fingers curling tightly over the edges as he fixed the professor with a sullen stare.]
I'm listening, Sir.

It's my job. A little extra danger doesn't change that.

So be careful.

voice;
Mr. Dornez?!
voice;
Figures he wouldn't be lucky enough for everyone else to miss it.]
What is it? We're about to leave.
voice;
Um, that-- [ Was a lot angrier than she'd ever heard him be, she wants to say, but that doesn't seem like a good idea. ]
--sounded like you were pretty mad. [ She's glad he isn't yelling at her, anyway. ] What happened?
voice;
[His voice is cold, disdainful. Clearly, he didn't quite agree with the order he was given.]
[Voice]
What are these cockroaches you speak of, Walter?
[Voice]
One of them responded, if you want to have a listen for yourself.

[Voice] --> Encrypted
[There is a short pause as he encrypts the line.]
Will you be all right?

I'm going out now. I have to try to find them before their kills make it to the triple-digits.

However, given his outburst earlier, it was possible that Walter would not be seen fit to hunt on his own or with someone outside the organization while the presently-rampaging vampires were still free. He had not asked whether he would be allowed to.
He also doubted that Amy had ever been instructed on how to capture a vampire.]
...I am not certain the professor would permit it in this instance.
[Voice; Encrypted]
[In any case, Amy had doubts about catching her own kind unless they were seriously doing damage to the community. Of course, in this case, she would want to take down the rouges without hesitation. After all, they could very well impact her father's trial.]
