[There's a kid in ambient lighting grinning at you, Portians. He seems genuinely pleased, much like the last time you saw him. But today there are no marriage proposals written out in snow. There is a microphone, however. He taps it to make sure it's working properly, then grins again. Show time.]

Attention everyone! I'm Hanamura Yosuke, and this-

[Here he takes a second to pan the NV around and show off the interior of a building. The windows are boarded up at ground level, but bright and open, or so they would be in the daytime without the bars, on the upper area near the rafters. Yosuke's apartment was there once, but it's not obvious to anyone who didn't know the old layout. The Cat's Eye is back, gone from upscale bistro to a dark industrial cavern with an oddly located espresso machine, remnant of it's former days of glory.

But hey, it's still standing. And Yosuke is clearly proud of it.]

-Is the grand re-opening of the Cat's Eye. As you can see, our darkness proofing is ready and so is the bar. So anyone who vandalized it, your effort was wasted. Next time you'd better burn it down.

[Here he throws a wink, and then picks up the microphone again.]

And while we're on the subject of good news, there's something else. I'm not getting married to anyone. But there is a girl who makes me want to sing. It takes a few shots of vodka to feel okay about it, but I'm working on that. In the meantime, I'm all set. Like I said, the bar is ready!

Anyway, I saw this in a movie. So here goes.

[And yep, he takes a deep breath and starts to sing.]

[Ah, there she is! The girl who makes his heart sing. And really ought to try and keep him away from the bar, but maybe she'll let it slide.]

Yeah, 'course. Wait til tomorrow when the monsters go back under the bed, 'K? Think I'll wanna pass out by then anyway, ha!

How much have you had to drink?

[Because last time she had to get you taken to the fucking hospital, Yosuke.]

Mm, just to warm and cozy. You know, I'm thinking about getting a puppy. It could watch this place for us, and play with Eponine, and...I dunno. I could buy you some slippers for it to fetch. That'd be nice huh?

[reassures]

Do you have the money to feed a puppy?

[She does, so it isn't exactly a problem, but she worries about Yosuke coming up with these plans without being able to afford them.]

Please don't drink any more.

[He looks a bit downcast at that. She's right, he can't feed a puppy. He doesn't even have money to feed himself. He ran out of soap the other day, and has been hoping the water does well enough on it's own. Nill's the only person he can even bring back to work, since she doesn't mind working just for tips.

The sudden reminder puts a damper on his good mood, and suddenly "don't drink" is difficult advice to follow. Since it's Nill asking, he doesn't argue with her though.]

Sure I can. Soon this place will be full of happy customers again. Things will be great. You'll see.

[reassures]

[It isn't hard to tell when she's said something upsetting, even when she isn't close enough to read his mind about it.]

I have the money to feed a puppy. I don't spend what I earn very often.

No...no, you better save it. I can't pay right now anyway.

[He admits, glumly. A bit guiltily, in fact.]

It's alright, isn't it? You'll still help? Just for a while?

[reassures]

Of course. I like working there.

[It's true. Giving people who stare at her just a bit too long little mental flicks is kind of fun. And the work keeps her busy.]

I don't mind helping too if you need it.

[With the money, she means.]

[And like hell you're helping with anything but pouring drinks.]

No I'm not.
