- The Mighty Hunter Returns

Henry D. Spencer III has been released from SERO hospital after several months in intensive physical rehabilitation, burn treatment, and extensive cybernetic reconstructive surgery following a mysterious terrorist attack on his private property in Sector Six, better known and feared throughout the city as Spencer’s Hunting Grounds. It seems that from his hospital bed, Spencer has been hard at work completely redesigning the property, and that building and grounds crews have already remodeled to his specifications over the past few months, just in time to announce a grand re-opening next month.

Spencer’s doctors have spoken highly of his tenacious nature as a long term patient, noting that he hasn’t wasted a moment over the last few months, planning and pruning his land even while bedridden through a steady list of called-in-favors and live drone-camera updates. No one, says one nurse, has taken so aggressively determined to physical therapy and SERO’s latest body-enhancing technologies.

One popular port political cartoonist has drawn a satirical piece called “The Mighty Hunter Returns”, which depicts Spencer as a crazed cyborg wielding a SEROtech laser arm cannon instead of his iconic elephant gun and Australian slouch hat. Although he hasn’t made a public appearance since the accident, some speculate this caricature may not be a far cry from the truth.

Between medical bills, landscaping costs, a full rebuild of his lodge hall and a thick stack of government fines and fees following the investigations of last August, it is suspected that the Spencer fortune has nearly been drained dry by the extravagant toll on his checkbook this fall...but not before importing eight adult caribou bulls from the mainland. A VIP list of his favorite sport hunters have been invited to his annual anticipated Reindeer Games hunt, tentatively scheduled for Mid-December.

[ His expression flickers. This act of miracle healing shouldn't affect him; he's a man who lives only for himself, except - he knows these particular children, the ones in the news article. Over the past month or so, he'd visited most days, playing the part of a hospital clown. He had done so purely out of a sense of nostalgia, and because it amused him. And for no other reason. Of course.

...they, at least, deserved their miracle. But as for the other miracle that had happened that day...

But why acknowledge one's feelings when one can simply pretend they don't exist. He forces his features back into a smile; and his voice back into sing-song. ]

Speaking of hobbies… I wonder if anybody could explain this to me, because I really am com~plete~ly baffled! ♥
